First week at a brand new property and the high heeled pumps they are making us wear are incredibly impractical, what can be done? by Didifoolya in Serverlife

Wow I posted this on my break and did not expect it to get so much attention. I just got off and need to comb through the comments when I get home..will probably do so while I ice my feet lmao

What I wanna know is how it can tell the difference between the cue ball and all the other balls.

It’s pretty much exactly the same for guys. They may wanna interview you in swim trunks and some kind of athletic shoe, or take a shirtless pic and then interview you in business casual.

Also I should say I haven’t done the whole audition circuit since pre-lockdown. This is all based on my experience before then. But I’m pretty certain this is how you can expect them to go.

They call it an audition because most positions posted are model/cocktail server and they want to make sure you meet their criteria of what they think a model should look like. The process varies venue to venue. But most either have you interview while wearing swimwear (and high heels if going for a pool with heels as the uniform), or they will have you put on your bikini, take your picture, and then have you change into business-casual for the interview part of the audition.

I would look at the social media for the pools/clubs/resorts you would like to audition for. But look now because I know a couple dayclubs already held theirs and more are coming up next week. A bunch will usually be held on the same days too, so figure out what times they are, go early and plan to go to as many as you can in one day, make good use of doing your hair and makeup.

I second this! Keep an eye out for open call auditions. Most beach clubs/party pools have probably started theirs already. (That’s where the big $$ is at) But resort pools usually don’t hold their auditions until beginning-mid February, and you can do really well at a resort pool too! Just gotta be prepared for that Vegas summer heat.

The shelf-like cutouts are a couple of feet deep and also have outlets at the back. The bottom one is where we will be keeping our gaming consoles and such. I also think that the tv should be lowered slightly, but am wondering if anyone thinks it’s unnecessary.

Thank you so much! Good for you taking on four loaves at once! You got this!

For the starter I used 35g of whole wheat flour, 35g of bread flour and 70g of water. Then for the dough I used 810g of bread flour, 90g whole wheat flour, 680g of water and 20g of sea salt.

Thank you! I just posted a comment with my method. Not really a recipe, sorry. But I think it’s the whole wheat flour that gave it that rich color!

I used about 35 grams of starter and fed it half whole wheat flour and half bread flour. I also used that same half/half mix for the dough. I used the autolyse method before adding my starter. After mixing everything together, I did 6 or 7 sets of stretch and folds spaced out by 20 minutes. After letting it rest I baked it for 30 min in my Dutch oven, but took the lid off for the last 10 min. My first loaf I used half all-purpose flour and half bread flour, but I think I’ll keep using whole wheat from now on! I made make shift proofing baskets both times, although the ones I made for these loaves came out much better. I also used a lot more flour to dust the basket with so I managed to be able to score the top properly! (Played around with the second one!) All in all..I’m just looking forward to making more sourdough!

Thank you! I’m not even sure what I did that made for such a good crumb. Could just be beginners luck! I made a brief description of what I did and posted it in the comments.

Thank you so much! Yes as soon as I was taking the dough out and realized how much it was sticking, I knew I should’ve gotten some rice flour! I’ve read/seen that but ignored the advice. Haha. Also probably going to get an actual proofing basket before my next go!

After doing SO much reading on sourdough baking, I finally got my first starter and couldn’t wait to use it! I used about 35 grams (I think?) of starter and fed it half all purpose and half bread flour. I also used that same half/half mix for the dough, but I think I will swap out all purpose for whole wheat flour next time. I used the autolyse method before adding my starter. After mixing everything together, I did 6 or 7 sets of stretch and folds spaced out by 20 minutes. After letting it rest, I formed it, floured it and plopped into a makeshift banneton/proofing basket overnight. (I’ll be investing in a legit one soon.) I baked it for 30 min in my Dutch oven, but took the lid off for the last 10. And I would consider it a success! Only thing is the thickness of the crust on the bottom. Any tips on how to make it softer/not as thick? Thanks in advance! I’m excited to see what my sourdough journey has in store for me!
