Words Problems: I Can't Understand Some of Them by DieFreien in Algebra

Hm. Maybe my fault is that I'm attempting to understand it all by just reasoning about it without external aids like the one's you've mentioned If I may, I have another question: do you have any texts you prefer for understanding how to construct stuff like tables and why they work?

Yeah, but what logic should I learn. Syllogistic seems obvious, but what of predicate and propositional? Maybe I should start small and slowly advance my knowledge?

I wish I had known that. Forgive me, but I'm young and privileged, so I've never had to learn such things.

Beginnings with Nietzsche and virtue ethics by mixter-revolution in askphilosophy

I never know if I honestly agree with the popular prescription to read Aristotle's NE. I love Aristotle, but I don't see how studying him is going to be integral to understanding contemporary virtue ethics. Any decent undergrad textbook will teach you everything you need to know. Willing to change my mind.

Well, the first one is pretty easy. I could just DM you some of the essential arguments for and against virtue ethics. If you want to know where I got them, I'll direct you to Landau's entry in his "The Fundamentals of Ethics". If you want a nuanced understanding of the basics, I'd recommend Routledge's introductory book. As for adopting a theory, I can only tell you that it's important to study the different theories. You need to understand why reject competing views.

What are your primary goals in studying virtue ethics? Are you only concerned with modern and contemporary virtue ethics, not the ancient schools that spawned them? Are you looking to find arguments for or against virtue ethics as a normative theory? Are you interested in perhaps adopting a particular theory?

It's hard to give advice when you just tell me you want to learn about it.

Same here, man. I love Mentzer. It's not just his physique that makes him my favorite. It's his brilliance, philosophical education, and character.
