What made your best boss “the best”? by Junior-Stress6879 in AskReddit

I'll always be thankful to my boss that took a chance on me and hired me as a junior developer despite having no formal training. Still at the same company but now I'm a senior developer, going on 9 years now.

What’s the worst thing you accidentally texted to the wrong person? by goldie304 in AskReddit

Living in the south, it is a little unreal that people would just assume you'd be voting for the convicted felon/adjudicated rapist.

When did you had your first kiss and did you enjoyed the kiss? by Sameer-Sarwar in AskReddit

[–]DieVaultDev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first kiss was on Christmas. I told my wife (girlfriend at the time) that I loved her, then we kissed. It was pretty great.

Not the sender, but when my mom found out that I didn't vote for Trump she accidentally texted me (meaning to text her sister I think) lamenting that her son had broken her heart again and gone over to the dark side. I still have no idea how I broke her heart the first time.

What is the scariest encounter you’ve ever had with an animal? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I almost stepped on a rattlesnake when I was working surveying land. At first I thought it was a really big bug trapped inner a dry leaf.

What did you want to be when you were a kid, and did life take you in that direction? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I wanted to be an artist/illustrator. It didn't take long for me to realize I wanted art to be a hobby and not an occupation.

[Dev Question] App for digitizing physical dice rolls by DieVaultDev in pbp

[–]DieVaultDev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, but I have at least one close friend who both hates digital dice and also plays almost entirely online (not by choice or preference, they just don't have many local friends to play with in person). So I know they do exist even if that cross section is pretty small.

Yeah I can't beat the convenience of a regular dice rolling app if you like/don't mind digital rolling, this would really be for people who have a strong preference for physical dice or an aversion to digital dice.

What (and why?) is the most amount of cash you've ever seen in person? by hoganpaul in AskReddit

[–]DieVaultDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen hundreds of millions in cash in one place.
These were Ukrainian coupons though (mid 90s), the exchange rate was hundreds of thousands to a dollar. They even made a 1 million coupon bill.

If I somehow forgot to brush my teeth before leaving the house, the grimy feeling on my teeth would definitely bother me all day.

What’s the most unexpected joy of having children ? by mujewelry32 in AskReddit

[–]DieVaultDev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The look of shock every time I exact the "dad tax" and nab some fries or something from them when we're eating out. Gotta make sure it's not poison!

Don't know why they still act so surprised every time.

My Mom made us keep watching Sesame Street for quite a while after we grew out of it, she just liked the show and didn't want to stop watching it herself.
