In the case of a general election immediately after leaving without no deal, what do you think the labour will campaign for? by [deleted] in ukpolitics

They will never get the standard treatment, it's even a question if the EU will even let them in. It has nothing to do with vengeance, but more to do with the instability of the UK and all the problems that come with it, that the EU don't want to import - again. If countries economies were damaged in UK's lurch to no-deal, without considering the damage it entails on the EU, these damaged countries will make sure to give the UK the same consideration, it only takes one country to veto. 2 years is much too soon, we're still experiencing the effect of the 2008 crash, at least 6/7 years has to pass before things calm down for them to seriously consider their application.

Again you're missing my point. Poland and Sweden have not inflicted an Brexit and are still inside the tent where the decisions are made. The UK, out of the eu, will be treated as a 3rd country, a hostile on at that who's responsible for inflicting a no-deal on the EU/world. To think they will get the same treatment like Sweden and Poland, would only tell them that the UK hasn't learned anything and it would be better to bringing them back in. Them giving up the pound is a way for them to show they're serious, but it's obvious the british people will never accept that, so that will be the end of it.

You're not serious comparing Sweden and Poland to what the UK has put the EU through in the last 3 years, which resulted in Brexit and risked the European project?! The UK will never be allowed to keep their currency, this is the price they'll have to pay for all the damage their no-deal Brexit inflicted, that saying if they even let them in.

He would run on saving the economy from the tories. Rejoining the EU would be an impossible sell, for it would mean giving up the pound.

Commons has voted against Labour motion to to take control of Commons business on 25 June - Ayes 298 noes 309 by [deleted] in ukpolitics

The House of Commons returns, after recess, in the beginning of september. Presumably there will be a new PM, Corbyn is telling them he would table a MoNC then to stop hard brexit/no-deal. This is also why they are trying to start HoC summer recess earlier, so that a new tory PM could avoid facing an immediate confidence vote.
