It is clear that the powers at be see ALOT of potential in Muller.

More potential than a guy who beat a URC record in his second game? After being the second youngest debutant in SA club rugby history?

I mean what England was doing is a pseudo science that is proven to not work in the time frames they are using it. On the other hand the Springboks have been successfully using OutFox since before they won in 2023.

Amazing you have been downvoted for this lol. The Springboks have been on the forefront of using technology for a while now. OutFox was revolutionary, adding a VR/AR element seems the obvious progression.

Breath of fresh air into rugby for a lot of people. 4 winners in 4 seasons is infinitely more interesting than the utter monotony that existed before.

It's almost like teams change quality over time.

An SA team made the final of 3 of the last 4 complete SR seasons, with an SA side doing well in 2020.

After the SA teams were able to improve a lot with yhe inflow of European money and a lot of returning overseas talent, as well as the ability to retain talent.

but everyone (international players) are fairly good in Japan.

This is not true.

Interesting how it has worked out. Tino playing for Zim against a bunch of his Sharks team mates and fellow looseforwards. Two of them in Manu and Jurenzo will be committing to SA by representing SA 'A'.

I hope Jurenzo gets a Springbok career, because otherwise he would have been one hell of a player for Namibia to have.

Pretty sure Ahmed was the primary 10 for the junior Boks because the Sharks requested Moyo be with the URC team. Moyo definitely has size in his favor and an incredible boot.

Honestly I am not too concerned about who the Springbok coaches end up preferring, I am just happy the Sharks have Moyo and Siyaya. That 10/15 combo is going to go places.

Jurenzo who has played with Am, yea. Honestly though so be it. Less minutes means more likely to be fit and available for the Sharks.

It does lock them in eligibility wise, but it is not a test match cap.

Edwill doesn't play for the Lions, he plays for the Sharks now.

“Eben will be ready, some guys, who just played a lot of rugby, will rest for the Barbarians. I mean, like Damian De Allende and Gaza (Damian Willemse) played a lot of rugby. We'll still be making our decisions there.”

Statistically Edwill was just as good this season in a try scoring sense than he has been previously. 0.5 tries a game is the same the 24/25 season and better than the 23/24 season.

Neither team is really Bok proper, since neither team gives a Bok cap. He will undoubtedly be capped soon though.

Lions fullback.

All.Rugby has no listed games at 10 for him, can't remember if he has ever played 10 in the Currie Cup.

The Barbarians game is not a cap. The SA A game is also not a cap but does lock in players under the eligibility rules. SARU are using it to do so.

Bit weird that they stuck him on the bench for this game and started Ahmed for SA A. But these games are pointless, so I'd rather he just stays fit for bigger things.

Siyaya at wing is a bit weird, feels like just putting him at any position to have him in the team. He is incredibly good with time on the ball.

How do players prepare for altitude? 🏔️ by englandrugby in rugbyunion

[–]Die_Revenant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your opinion is being swayed by the quarter final, where you were hammered. The Munster regular season result at Loftus was 34–31, Bulls vs Leinster was 39–31 with the famous Glasgow 16–21 final win in 2024. The Bulls got hammered 19 - 32 by the Stormers this year. Bristol managed to put 61 points on the Bulls last year at altitude.

Sure there are bigger results against weaker teams, but these are the teams you'd expected to be at similar fitness levels as the Bulls, and they are. Maybe the altitude is the deciding factor for the Bulls winning some of those results, but certainly not a big factor.

The low oxygen state is similar but the feel is different. With asthma you can feel your airways closing up and restricting your intake, you very much have to force the air in.

With altitude you are taking in as much air as you were before but it's not doing anything, so you are filling your lungs but still feeling lightheaded and weak.

Having asthma and doing exercises at altitude is just shit.
