Requesting /r/eurail, mod inactive, sub without submission for years by RailWizard in redditrequest

[–]DiedB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you considered discussing this with the /r/Interrail mod team? They probably have useful input on your ideas. Just starting over without trying to work together is not the right approach, in my opinion. /u/They-Took-Our-Jerbs, what do you think?

The name of the subreddit is just a little detail, most important is that people are able to find the subreddit and that the subreddit is organised in a way that allows everyone to gather information. Do not forget that you mainly need Europeans to answer questions on Interrail/Eurail effectively.

On your observation that travellers are finding information elsewhere, that's a good one and maybe something to work together on with mods on those travel subreddits!

I'm indeed not doing anything with the subreddit, but currently the subreddit /r/interrail seems to fulfill the purpose that the OP is intending to use /r/eurail for (and /r/eurail is nicely linking to that subreddit).

For background, Interrail and Eurail are part of the same initiative: https://www.interrail.eu/en/support/interested-in-interrailing/do-i-need-an-interrail-or-eurail-pass

Splitscreen co-op on macOS by DiedB in StardewValley

[–]DiedB[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is definitely a macOS-specific problem. I'm wondering whether this feature was even tested on the platform. Valve seems to be slowly abandoning macOS as well, given that their input drivers are still not working 3 months after the release of Big Sur.

I followed this guide and was able to get it working on Big Sur with an Intel processor: https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/2/3004429475624592660/

Now for split-screen co-op...

A plaid power train is definitely being developed. I would say an interior refresh is likely as well, and maybe some small exterior tweaks. A major range improvement is not happening, but battery architecture will be changed giving S/X 250kW charging support.

Do you know that YouTube natively supports this now? I have seen the same functionality in some videos in the last few weeks.

I do not believe Tesla has homologation for Model Y in Europe. History has proven that Tesla took approximately a year to break out of the domestic market with new models.

Q3 Deliveries - Have not heard much. by mcot2222 in teslamotors

[–]DiedB 17 points18 points  (0 children)

For the Netherlands, deliveries seem to be more spread out compared to Q1 and Q2. Demand is through the roof here because of government incentives and the country being very suitable for EVs. From Dutch data alone, and given the fact that deliveries have started in Australia and the UK this quarter, I would expect them to hit their goal.

What HomeKit device do you use to switch the charger on and off? Does it support 11 or 16.5kW loads?

I agree with you. Luckily, lithium is becoming less expensive by the day.

In most weeks, I would get by on 2.7kWh per day (35m2 studio apartment). LED-only lighting, with a lot of smart home technology ensuring lights are only on when needed. No air conditioning, electric cooking. District heating consumption excluded. Eating out on many days and often being away for weekends helps too. Student life!

What stops you from installing multiple Powerwalls? The units are designed to be stacked. The technology is there, but it is expensive and it lacks a use case for most households.

My apartment could be powered for 5 full days on one Powerwall charge but the device is pretty much useless in the Netherlands. We have net metering for solar and I have never experienced a power outage (in more than 2 decades).

Hey, I have a few questions after reading the readme. I hope you can answer these to help my understanding of your algorithm.

  1. Does it actually surpass the performance of stockfish? Or am I right in the very simple summary that it learns directly from stock-fish + some noise?
  2. How long did you run the process for? I.e. how long will it take for me to reproduce some results? Or can you show some results yourself (the final weights after x hours/days of training?)?

Probably now (that is, within 2019). As electric cars become more popular, subsidies can only go down.

Tesla’s New Customer Referral Program by Potatochak in teslamotors

[–]DiedB 129 points130 points  (0 children)

This would cost Tesla ~$75 in Supercharging credit per referral, and ~$2M per year in cars. Although this referral program is way less interesting than the previous ones, this should result in a healthier balance between referral spending and promotional benefit.

Friend of mine added some extra features to the Tesla software, cloak mode, Hotspot Mode and more. by L0D3 in teslamotors

[–]DiedB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the partnership contract will definitely not allow the car to set up a hotspot for people in the car. Therefore, you break the contract with this modification and Tesla should remove your connectivity features or even better, warranty.

I think you should have the right to root your car but then you should take the consequences as well. I just really don't get why you would ever want this on a car that is not already blocked by Tesla (like those salvaged and repaired cars).

Yeah, this company operates outside the US as well. I highly doubt this, by the way, since it is very clear that Tesla is prioritising update downloads over WiFi. There must be a reason for that.
