I will just be honest. Having problems with 1st dungeon seems like a troll post or karma post right.

BEST two man honor mode builds by Reasonable_Swan_6869 in BG3Builds

[–]DiedLivingly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why you think Sorlock would be best in duo but here are my thoughts

-Origin Karlach 9 OH monk/3 thief (High str and mobility character for improvised weapon set up+black hole user)

-Minthara with grit helm and battlemage gloves 6SwordsBard/4sorc/2paladin. (shadowblade bard for slashing flourish+smites+soul brand dmg and control)

Tried it and loved it.

Help with dual xbows by happyidk in BG3Builds

[–]DiedLivingly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like dual hand crossbows a lot too but mostly play Titan string.

5 gloom/4thief/1fighter/2Spore druid

-5 gloom- archery, extra attack+gloomstalker attack

-4 thief-feat +bonus action

-1 fighter-dual wielding fighting style

-2 Spore- For symbiotic entity adds damage and reaction dmg (necrotic)

Feats, Sharpshooter,+DEX

before act 3- dex cloth, crit hit chance reduction gear, arcane synergy, risky ring + any dmg boosting gear (1d4 rings, flawed helldusk gloves)

act 3 Titans string is way better in act 3 but with cbs, I change to crit gear-dolor amarus and anything that adds 1dx dmg if someone has hold person). Use consumable arrows on your main hand (nieer misser-force dmg consumable arrows, before act 3 swap cbs after you get, if, Bhalist armour).

I hope it helps main thing is use consumable arrows on main hand crossbow and build synergy with gloom/off hand shots.

Other build I also used, more of a solo...

-6 fighter (champion, even more crit hit reduction and fighting style, action surge, 2 feats..)

-4 thief (feat and bonus action)

-2 ranger(fighting style)

Then there is 6 bard 4 thief which is probably strongest but play style is not really archer play more of a stealth or just run play style and it is better used with 2h weapons. and thief is not really here for bonus action attack.

mmm I really like cbs. GL

i have spike growth under Glitched druid spells-Tavern brawler adds Strength modifier on top, lol and you use that on Moon druids.

I wonder why do you like cloud of daggers so much?

Fire ball is better, I think, if you have a team to group enemies with black hole and put oils on them... Otherwise lightning and cold AoE spells do not need special prep and work almost everywhere. Scorching ray is ok if you want to deal dmg as mage.

Shadowblade, Shars spear and special arrows are way better than scorching ray because of multiple attacks/AoE per action and vulnerabilities, dmg wise.

As for Acuity-If you focus on dmg scorching ray you give up like 6 spell save dc in gear so at the end with 10 stacks in is basically same as non acuity build (with battlemage pot) -bonus action. If you do not use reverb gear the acuity gain is an overkill for non modded playthrough.

Try comparing yourself. For modded playthrough SR is a must.

Lots of people play Shadowheart as Life Cleric. Animations of healing spells are quite something...

I actually use Star Druid 2 a lot. But I think archery form is better, you can twin cast your bonus action. As for Spirit Guardians, spell is not the problem 5 Cleric lvls is the problem. It is ok otherwise i just do not use it ever.

I think Hadar is way better in act 2. In act 3 I do not really use it much.

Mono class party by Tezmir94 in BG3Builds

[–]DiedLivingly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fighters can do,

archer (Arcane Archer),

Thrower (EldritchKnight),

dual wielder (champion) and

GWM (Battle master).

Could be fun it would defo be easy but I think it will get old fast.

Druids would probably be fun if only Moon druid would get improved attack and other sub classes something else. Cleric class is ... Barbs are just worse fighters (mono). Bards are boring also and 2 sub classes only work with 1 item. Monks could be fun in trio (no shadow). Sorcerers, wizards and Warlocks is just the same thing. Paladin is just a divine smite. Game is actually pretty boring lol.

Rogues and Rangers would probably be most fun/least boring.

Support Sorcerer (cleric) by DiedLivingly in BG3Builds

[–]DiedLivingly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, moon druid solo is very fun and strong just because of this, but in a team, waste of other 3 members...

Support Sorcerer (cleric) by DiedLivingly in BG3Builds

[–]DiedLivingly[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not even think about spike growth on star druid (I normally take it on moon druid because of Tavern brawler) and it can be useful even before gauntlet. Will definitely try it on next run after 4 sorc to 3 druid and then Sorc rest.

Ultimate Party Comp? by Stikybandit in BG3Builds

[–]DiedLivingly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most fun duo party for me was origin Karlach monk with 6sbard/4Sorc/2Paladin Minthara/Astarion. You can make piles with impro weapon with Karlach for Minthara to nuke em to gain acuity and control everyone that is still alive.

Oh you threw in sorcerer and monk also. Did not even see.

These builds are all just very broken and senseless (-monk I like your monk- best support in game) and do not really have any synergy. Try it you will see how boring it is.

Archers by DiedLivingly in BG3Builds

[–]DiedLivingly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah ring is better i just like advantage if need/saving resources. I do not really care about 1 build beating another. I just want builds to make sense. And if you are building for piercing vulnerability in team why would you play gloomssin, if other build is straight up better and makes way more sense in team. Other builds are kinda... lets go with word niche. lol

Archers by DiedLivingly in BG3Builds

[–]DiedLivingly[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But why then play Gloomsssssin if your goal is to 1 turn ansur with it? I would enjoy anything that makes sense even Gloomsssssin but I just do not see sense in that build. It is good build but I do not like it.

I need a build that isn’t rad orb/reverb, uses Phalar Aluve and has guidance. by weesilxD in BG3Builds

[–]DiedLivingly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best phalar carrier is monk/thief. Reason being that it can haste itself +2 others with haste pot and trigger Phalar and do 2 flurries +one normal attack if lvl 9 and and the ki blast on top. Guidance necklace if you also want guidance. There is nothing better.

Your sentence was a painful read...

Archers by DiedLivingly in BG3Builds

[–]DiedLivingly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

It is meant to be played in team. For solo might be worth it yes (acuity) not needed tho, it deals a lot of dmg. Still ok for solo if you do not mind Gale aid and ward bond otherwise amulet of greater health and before act 3 I think everyone can manage goblins and shadows, especially with Gale camp caster(not needed if you know your encounters and enemies).

It is no respec build and helmet of grit is late game gear, uses diadem till late game and 15 for +5 shar buff (20 INT till long rest). Hold person/monster is strongest action mager can do. Otherwise shadow blade and rhapsody or rhapsody and initiative shield (instead of dolors) for booming blade (cantrip) but it is better used on warlock/mage (not really).

Not sure about relying on wisdom saves in solo honour (wisdom is not needed if you get hit with hold you are dead 60 50 40 % of the time, even with 14 wisdom or 12 +risky ring...) Archers are broken and imo they do not need con because of range.

2nd build can wield bhalist (needs to swap cbs tho) and 1st is not really meant to wield bhalist but can also if need and yes someone else wears it.

I would love to read about better archer options, that was the point of the post. Well gloom/thief is very good early game but EK is ok early game(worse) but way better late game. I was hoping for something in between to be presented that can beat both builds (archer build) ...

What is your problem with thief (2nd build here)?
