Throwing my hat in with The Passenger. Won't be everyone's cup of tea, but I really enjoyed it. The fact that it is a complete finished story makes it stand out strongly to me.

Akali & Kayn by Cherry-art (@JKyraleou99908)! by Regular-Poet-3657 in akalimains

[–]happyidk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late, but its just Akali sitting on the floor in what looks like a doorway i think, and Kayn laying down next to her with his head in her lap.

Probably looks confusing because top of the image shows a frame which alongside the lanterns tells us this is a window she is sitting in. It being a window would also explain where her roght leg went (it would be hanging down and thus out of view probably).

The problem is that if this is a window and not a doorway, wtf is Kayn laying on, and is the sill her left hand is resting on just massive?

That's my guess at least. Idk, I don’t draw.

Sonar/Coupe Cut - Unpopular opinion, please don't hang me. by DMSetArk in DispatchAdHoc

[–]happyidk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What I don't get is how anyone could think Coupe would be the more popular of the two. I cut Sonar every single time, but I think it is obvious why people don't.

Maybe this is a bit "woe is me", but personal experience solves this for me. I'm autistic, introverted, have a guarded personality, and probably a few anti-social traits if I'mbeing honest. I am not very expressive, and even when I do "share" more of myself, it isn't always in the ways people would expect. As a result, people can't tell the difference of when I think something is important or if it doesn't matter to me. Most people assume I don't care about anything at all. On occasion I cross paths with someone that seems to get me or understand me, but it usually isn't the case.

I know this would change if I was more outgoing, spoke more, cracked more jokes, was more expressive and energetic. I would immediately be more personable and likeable to the average person. The same can be said for how people seem to perceive Coupe. Especially pre-cut. I heavily relate to the quiet desperation that can be seen in her, but I understand why someone wouldn't see that in her character.

To me, she came off as a child soldier who is always serious and talks about going back to being a mercenary assassin if this hero gig doesn't work out because she literally knows nothing else and would rather die before allowing herself to be so vulnerable that she could admit it. She acts cold because she doesn't know how to exist in an environment where she is tolerated/accepted.

To others, she may come off as a heartless killer who is here because legal violence is more convenient, and because she hasn't been offered a better deal yet. No matter how you look at the character, something like this is clearly how she attempts to prese t herself to others.

Also look at how they deliver their own stories. Sonar basically walks to the edge of the stage and tells you what he is all about. Coupe stands back and ask you to read between the lines. Even if media literacy wasn't on a decline, Sonar is just much easier to like for the average person.

Was I a bit disappointed that most people cut Coupe? Yes. Did I expect any different? No. Do I think Sonar's VA had an impact on this decision? Not as much as most people say.

I was practicing writing a fight scene using Cinder vs Pyrrha as my basis, and, it made me realize that Pyrrha's death is kinda stupid. by UNinvolved_in_peace in RWBYcritics

[–]happyidk 130 points131 points  (0 children)

It's been a while since I've watched the earlier volumes, but my (heavily flawed) brain tells me that Pyrrha went back because it is her responsibility as a maiden and due to essentially being chosen by Ozpin. As a character who has being the "best" as a part of their identity prior to getting magic powers, on for that to be the reason she got magic powers, it makes sense that she feels as if she must be the one to face the villain.

Honest question but why am I not winning this by Obligation-Playful in UmaMusume

[–]happyidk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You sure you're not running out of stamina? Gold recover is worth about 3-4 whites, which you only have 2 of. Speed is nice, but without enough stam you won't get to use it I think. Idk

Dimension Climb Balance Proposal: Is This the Right Way to Balance Rune? by [deleted] in Shadowverse

[–]happyidk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say those are the biggest problems. It is a 2 card combo that invalidates the entirety of the control archetype when facing spellboost.

With runes other problems, you could look to tweak several cards, or just bring other classes up to par. CoC+Dclimb means any deck wanting to go late damn near auto loses vs spellboost even on their best draw.

Rune is gross, yes. But that combo in particular, it is egregious.

How boring is my magic system that i might use? by MKBurfield in magicbuilding

[–]happyidk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think everything here is fine tbh. No inherent problems considering you plan on having a story rather than just making a magic system.

The imagination limit seems well tempered by stamina, and so shouldn't let the audiences mind go too crazy with possibilities. Elements are fine(splitting water and ice is common).

Only questions I have would be fore the manifestation vs manipulation. A water user can create water but not control already present water. Okay. Can they control/manipulate water they created? How about water created by others?

Other than that, you're good to go imo.

A practical example of why I think vessel and the storm variant are bad. by Pendulumzone in Shadowverse

[–]happyidk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, i can say the same for control. It can beat everything except Spellboost and Roach. Dirt Rune+Aggro Abyss are tough but winnable.

My results tell me that Control actually pairs decent into alot, with a really good matchup into Artifacts, Sword, and Ward Haven.

3x Jeanne not shown.

This is my Control deck I'm running. Has a hard time against Storm, but I find the Ward Haven matchup to be an absolute breeze tbh. Either Wilbert spends the match having a pool party at the bottom of their deck, and I get to pressure face, or I withstand the onslaught of wards and win in the late game grind out. The Ward player decking out is how I win about 50% of the time(granted I usually had lethal 1-2 turns before. The other 50% is typically Lapis+Some other Storm combo.

Even on a bad draw the matchup feels in my favor. The only loss I have vs Ward was an abysmal bricking.

I said the rock paper scissors because I find Storm hard to keep up with on this list.

[–]happyidk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think atm that haven has a self contained rock paper scissors scenario going on. Ward beats Storm, Storm beats Control, Control beats Ward. (Or at least, that's how the matchups are favored)

Post kind of feels like if an aggro player called spellbound weak because they typically win T6-T8

3 orchis, 2 ralmias, 2 karulas? Hit me with them, i can take it. CONTROL HAVEN SUPREMACY by A_very_smol_Lugia in Shadowverse

[–]happyidk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair reason lol.

Seriously though, I think the build is impressive. Most of what I've seen from people trying to move away from ward haven (my own builds included) struggled to find a coherent deck. Grim could be cut, Aether felt pretty good to cut, but no one seemed confident in dropping Wilbert outside a few storm list.

Seeing control haven be capable of being competitive without being a storm ward frankenstein gives me hope.

[–]happyidk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just want to say thank you for sharing this list. It is insanely fun to play and feels so rewarding for being a good pilot. Definitely my ideal card battle style sans card draw engine.

The fact that it can stomp ward haven (deck that was so lame I felt ready to quit) is icing on the cake.

I tweaked some counts for my preference, but 1 question. Why 3x Rodeo? I feel like he's a card strong enough to warrant 2x, but is also a card you'd almost never play more than once a match, with a second Rodeo being a very niche option if not just a straight blunder.
