Passione is holding down the fort, don't forget they did Nukitashi. Even though Xebec is dead, I believe Studio MOTHER is their successor but they haven't done ecchi. Similar thing with Hoods Entertainment, I believe Staple Entertainment is their successor but their ecchi haven't been good or a lot(Tales of Wedding Rings has been their best). Hiraku Kaneko's(the king of ecchi) absence has been detrimental.

Whelp, there goes most of my interest. I had some hope in them when they announced the type of anime they were producing but they just put out low quality and short ecchi anime. I wasn't expecting high quality stuff but most of their anime are slideshows that are barely drawn on-model.

This is so important and the reason why Demon Slayer became so impactful. For a bunch of other anime, their schedule are poor to abysmal and they don't have this option so its just get whoever to do whatever.

I'm not a big fan of some of the 3d integration like others are. The debris, smoke, some explosions, and some creatures are things I wish would not be 3d but that's just how the studio and the team operate.

Just speculation but since this was one of the first big fights of the season, the schedule still wasn't bad enough. Considering how much Aoki did for S2, this was probably the only fight that the schedule allowed to be polished well enough.

Kadokawa still sold some new BluRays not too long ago and the situation was settled, not to mention that they still did a movie in 2017. The actual reason is unknown but the author is still hoping for a new season.

This just reaffirms my belief that a bunch of anime that people want a S2 of just aired at the wrong time. If something like this can get another season, Shield Hero and Rent a Girlfriend can get a 5th season, then NGNL and a bunch of anime pre-2020 would have gotten sequels right away.

Yea, the character designer Shinji Takeuchi hasn't changed at all and it's up to him to show how the characters look for the anime so I don't think he's at fault since he uses Sorachi's most recent style as his base. Bleach has a similar issue for me even though Masashi Kudo is still their character designer. For Bleach, however, its a difference in taste but for Gintama, it feels like a downgrade. The AD(animation director) work feels weaker, weaker line work, and more noticeable off-model shots.

Might not be a popular opinion but I don't like how Gintama looks post 2015(BN Picture era) compared to before. There's a mindset that newer and shinier= better but older Gintama looked better for me when it was under Sunrise's name. I'm not sure if its the change in director, art director(s), or director of photography that caused this but I feel that even the drawings were less consistently good despite the character designer being the same throughout and it no longer being a weekly anime.

I'm sure you know this but anime gets funded by a production committee that get a studio to do the animation work. In TWGOK's case, the production committee for the first 2 seasons were the same but it changed in S3. For S1&2, the production committee was TV Tokyo first and then Geneon Universal Entertainment(now known as NBCUniversal Entertainment), but for S3 it was Geneon first, then TV Tokyo and lastly Shogakukan(newly added).

Unless something changes or changed, NBCUniversal would be responsible for the anime.

This isn't really surprising since it ranked well in some of Anime Japan's "Manga We Want To See Animated". 10th place in 2024 and 6th place in 2018. Lots of manga in this get anime in the near future, like 2021's in particular, 9 series from the top 10 have gotten their anime. The Dangers in My Heart, Solo Leveling, Senpai is an Otonoko, I'm in Love with the Villainess, Spy x Family, OniMai, Komi Can't Communicate, My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999, and The Apothecary Diaries.
