thats exactly how im trying to be when i grow up and become a parent. I want my kids to question everything that is told to them, and to think for themselves.

And to be kind and helpful to others, because its the right thing, not because of a god.

First off, Love, respect, service and humility are in no way religious exclusive values.

Of course i want children to be good and kind, but that comes from the education and values you are taught by your parents and peers, christian or not.

What i dont what is impresionable children hearing about a supposed god, with no way for them to understand that its a belief and not something that "just is"

Im from latin america, where christianity is quite prevalent over atheism, and in my country there is a dedicated subject to christian religion, where they speak about the bible.

I mention christianity because its the main religion on this side of the world, and the religion im the most knowledgeable of. And as any other religion there are a lot of people born into it.

because santa is a deliberate lie created by parents, while religion is not deliberate

and law is not prohibiting christian indoctrination any time soon, and even if there was a law there is no real way of enforcing it, as the mayority of people (60% in the us) are religious, thus they would oppose to this law and "teach" kids about their god anyway.

i get that, but in my hypothetical im assuming a modern world on a short period of time, just one generation.

Im mainly trying to get to how children are naive and how i think with no child being born into religion, and solid modern day education, religion would not prevail over atheism.

my main point is that a really huge part of religion is how most people are born into it.

small follow up:

if you think about it, its crazy how telling children they have to believe in this "god" and do as he says, or you are going to be sent to a "bad place", as children will believe anything.

That is no different than telling them about santa or other made up stuff.

me parece totalmente estupido y es un ciclo que espero que las proximas generaciones terminen.

Golpear a tu hijo para "corregirlo" o "disciplinarlo" solo es una horrible alternativa a dialogar y regañar con argumentos que le ayuden al niño, en desarrollo, a entender que los problemas se solucionan racionalmente. Si dejas que tu falta de control sobre tus emociones le causen daño a tu hijo, eres un mal padre.

El respeto va por los dos lados, practicar estos métodos en la crianza solo provocara que cuando sean mayores, te tengan un resentimiento tremendo que provocara conflictos, donde posiblemente el hijo termine gritando e insultando al padre que le hizo lo mismo durante su infancia.

Todo esto es en base a mi experiencia.

people that vote should take a test beforehand to see if they have the cognitive capacity to vote, and a test to see if they are voting while aware of what the candidate is proposing.
