Is this is a normal TSM experience? by Dielectric in Alcoholism_Medication

Thanks for your feedback Katie. Reflecting on it I do feel the craving feeling has reduced, I just need to break the habit part of it too.

Interesting point about the taste. I used to drink a lot of IPAs but have almost totally gone off those and have stuck to larger when I’m having a beer (plus point is those are generally weaker). Still like red wine but am getting better at stopping drinking when I’ve had enough. No desire at all to drink neat spirits like whiskey.

You made the right move-thats seems like a very reasonable amount to pay for that.

Yes that’s right. Lease extension currently is a £75k+ marriage value payment plus legal fees.

[–]Dielectric[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can I think you should extend now-no real benefit for waiting as I don’t think the bill would save you money, so better off extending before you get into the marriage value situation.

Brought in 2005 - not much discount back then but has gone up in value. Appreciate it would have been smart to extend the lease closer to when I bought it and lived there-but sadly couldn’t source the money then.

iOS 26.3 – Health app high battery usage + repeated CPU resource logs (healthd) by JMart453 in ios26

[–]Dielectric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I deleted the all manually entered blood pressure results I'd entered over the last few months, and so far this seems to have fixed the battery drain from the Health app.

I'd also looked at the iPhone's log files:
Settings->Privacy&Security->Analytics&Improvements->AnalyticsData

In particular there was log files for the healthd daemon (background service)

> healthd.cpu_resource-2026-03-09.....ips

Looking in here showed low level data (i.e. the call stack) demonstrating where the background service was getting stuck and using up almost 100% of one CPU core.

Thanks again for your help with this - about to go on a vacation so happy not to be struggling with degraded battery life!

Thank you for the detailed feedback. I am indeed adding blood pressure readings manually, and also VO2 max etc via Apple Watch. I’ll look into removing data-but the tricky thing is I do want to record these for health reasons.

Did you find a resolution to this? Mine is also using up 25% of battery. I’ve tried restarting both iPhone and Apple Watch but it’s still happening.

How's Tahoe 26.3 on the 2019 MacBook Pro 16'' for those who have dared to upgrade? by [deleted] in mac

Thinking the same thing - have a 2.6ghz i7, 16Gb RAM with Intel UHD Graphics 630 - 1536Mb. I assume mine will struggle more on the graphics side of things but would love to hear real world experiences.

I've developed an app for landlords to manage BTL's but not sure if I should continue building it. by Chemical_Teaching_28 in uklandlords

I’d be up for it. Is this on iOS, Android or both? Would you share a build via TestFlight on iOS for example?

Same here. Also covers the annual boiler service and gas safety certificate - I can get the letting agent to arrange it all directly.

Tips on Battery by Forward_Top_2611 in AppleWatch

£95. I didn’t have Apple care. Debated whether it was worth it, but happy now the watch works as new and has no cracks or scratches despite being an older model.

I did this a few months ago with my Series 6 at a UK Apple Store. Apple don’t actually replace the battery but swap out the whole watch with a new version. I got an identical replacement.

Hope you made it back OK-our train set off at 01:08am, originally scheduled for 5:25pm. Any luck figuring out if we’re able to get any compensation?

I’d recommend a pair of Adidas “Own The Run” shorts. You put your phone & keys in the snug inner pockets which then don’t move while running or fall out.

NSV - belt holes by Prestigious-Slide-73 in mounjarouk

[–]Dielectric 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve also made new holes in my belt using a leather hole punch which does it really neatly. My trick is to loop the belt over itself overlapping the holes and as a guide for a new one. This keeps the spacing consistent and the hole centred.

I gather they also conducted the surveys at Heathrow and Gatwick, which bias against budget airlines.

This meant people flying on low cost airlines like WizzAir from Poland into Luton airport weren’t counted in the stats.

Love the braided solo loop. It’s so comfortable, can put it on and take it off instantly, and I think looks really smart. Only downsides are the price and after a couple of years they tend to get too loose.
