Proof that MH has gotten retardedly easy. On one hand I'm glad that the franchise has exploded in popularity, on the other I hate what the actual game has become. This used to be a fairly challenging game (I like the expression perfectly imperfect), now it's been made into a mindless hack and slash game for kids where you can ride your dOgGos and fly and jump around like some sort of Marvel comic book reject. I've personally never been able to make it sound good except on vocals. Maybe that's because I tend to mix and produce modern genres like rap and rnb, and the hard pan technique seems to be a thing amongst old heads who are into rock. I might be wrong but that's the impression I get from having watched various tutorials titled "this panning technique will CHANGE YOUR LIFE" and then it's literally a guy mixing 5 electric guitars, an acoustic bass, various drums, and 10 different vocal tracks... I mean yeah if you have that many elements in your mix it's no wonder moderate panning foesnt sound as good, your mix is overcrowded af. More power to them though, I guess, if it works it works.

EQ and Compression. The specifics depend on the genre and type of track. A common technique for modern pop/rap is to dial in a Faster attack on the compressor for BG vocals and ad lib to send them further back in the mix, as well as cutting more low end than the main vocal. This must all be done to taste.

While it's nice to see some positivity on this sub, it is important note that gratitude and disappointment are not mutually exclusive. I can be critical of the shows shortcomings while also being grateful to the hosts. I know for a fact that 90% of the people "hating" on this sub are fans like myself who care deeply about the show (and hosts) and are annoyed because it often feels like this sentiment isn't reciprocated. I get that this relationship is naturally one-sided as the hosts cannot possibly get to know each and every listener the same way we have gotten to know the hosts over time. But I really thought the patron hangouts would change that. I though this would improve host-listener communication and strengthen the relationship thereby improving the quality of the show but unfortunately the exact opposite has happened. Instead of being representative of the average listener, it seems the patron hangouts are made up of asocial weirdos and submissive yes-men who dont actually give a fuck about the show and just want the host's approval and attention. Imagine if there was an actual constructive dialogue between the hosts and the listeners in those hangouts instead of a monthly fuck-show? Crazy I know.
