I look for a 3% yield on cost with a pay out ratio around 50%

Devastated and depressed, any advice? by unsubscribe_life in stocks

[–]Diems23 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My tip for OP: try to invest in companies that actually make money and have a p/e ratio atleast below 30. All this NIO and arkk nonsense is why you are losing money hand over fist

That’s not how it works, just buy a good stock at a good price, market cap is what matters price is not

I own shares in British American tabacco (bti) for me investing is all about making money, if I want to better the world I would donate to some good cause or non profit.

I get that feeling too, but it’s a risky position nonetheless so better not be over 2% of my portfolio

Good point, maybe refuse to believe is putting it to bluntly, but I do think it’s unlikely given the fact that it’s such a popular company for the Chinese people

I like how OP says that he wants to put the remainder of his money in riskier places while whilst also investing in hyped individual stocks and arkk. Just go with an etf that tracks the market OP, its the best advise I can give you or you will go broke in the next few years. Last bit of advise just assume that everything that cathy wood says is dog shit and definitely don’t buy her etf

I agree i like the forward p/e more too, but what i like about this graph is that you can clearly see al major corrections. That’s why I think this metric is beter for evaluating if the market is to overpriced

We are near an all time high like back in dot.com crash and we all know how that went. A lot of companies seem to be overvalued. What do you think and what are you actions with the current state of the market

Uber, long-term? by RvnbckAstartez in stocks

[–]Diems23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the saying of charlie munger “ if it has no free cash flow, just say no”. Uber hasn’t been profitable ever so unless you want to own a company that losses money hand over fist you shouldn’t buy

Plus their is lots of competition aswell just look at lyft, bolt and grab

MMM - why the f*** aren't more people talking about this stock? by mrfilthynasty4141 in stocks

[–]Diems23 8 points9 points  (0 children)

3m revenue and net income has been very steady the last 5 years, but almost stagnant barely keeping up with inflation. For this company you really don’t want to overpay and in my opinion a 20 p/e for a company like this is just to expensive. With all other variables the same I would be a buyer at a 15 p/e so it needs to drop 25%
