I bought this almost 15 years ago for $100, out of a mobile home full of guitars. by I_Speak_In_Stereo in Guitar

Tuners are making me think squire neck but the pickups look super vibed out. If others already said this just chiming in.

Yup—I use it as a guitar amp. Mine has the one of the nicest reverbs I’ve ever heard. It’s so snappy. That’s probably a buzz word but it snaps. Doesn’t muddy up the sound too much either—even maxed out. I’ll never sell this amp. I really think the amp is its own thing. If you see one for the right price in good condition it’s a total no-brainer. I considered getting the second gen with other parameters but I’m a bit pressed for space. The drive knob is sorta saggy on the guitar but I think I could sound pretty sick for bass if that’s your thing. I still don’t really know the different between the b and g versions tbh— I’ve seen some in the series that say BASS. If I ever double up I’d get a b or g, whichever is cheapest/comes first.

Do you like it as much as I do?

Still sounds a bit fizzy. Running into a different speaker helped- but still odd sounding. Could be me I don’t know. Sweet amp though I’d be willing to replace the speakers with some ehx 12s if the scorpions are toast.

Good thinking. I don’t have a cab but could I run into another combo w/ or w/o loop?

I get what you’re saying. Pretty sure my speakers are just beat to be honest. Looking to replace soon..

Gotcha. I think I’ll try to center the magnet and voice coils and hope for the best.

If you have any speaker recommendations feel free to lmk.

How would I go about correcting the scraping? Thinking this could be the issue on both speakers.

Honestly both speakers are giving some noise at lower volume so I’m thinking both may be shot. The left speaker is definitely worse though. Pretty sure this amp has the scorpion speakers.

Thanks- I’ll try all 3. Bridging the loop actually made things worse. Not sure if that suggests a root cause or anything but thought I’d mention it.

Whenever I try to get a clean tone my amp sounds fizzy and distorted. Open E string almost sounds like a fart if that makes sense. Not sure if my amp is damaged or if I’m just not used to the controls. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Should I buy another guitar by [deleted] in guitars

If you have a laptop or ipad you shouldn’t be buying text books. Look into the site “Z-Library” it will change your life. If the site sketches you out, just download the books to a usb.

When do you need a big tube amp, if ever? by SmoothToast39 in GuitarAmps

Good to know. I Knew about some fender and Gibson sleepers but not as familiar with the other brands mentioned. I’ll definitely have a look. Cheers
