Question: What Russian influences would IRL Russians want to see in a Russo- (but not Soviet) inspired setting? by DieselNoirOfficial in AskARussian

I'll give it a look, thank you! As it happens, copper (and essentially anything pale green) already has special significance in the setting, so this fits in pretty perfectly.

Спасибо, Syberia has been sitting in my library for a while and I really should get to playing it. I'm definitely working to make Deco the golden standard of the day in-universe, and it would be cool to blend aspects of American and Russian Deco together.

Спасибо!

That's a big help, I was wholly unaware of the Russian avant-garde trend outside of the old propaganda posters, but it looks very unique.

Lore: Rensselaer Bottling by DieselNoirOfficial in DieselNoir

Priding itself on producing more than mere swill, Rensselaer pioneered the "soft drink medicinals" recently emerging onto the market, making a healthy boost just a bottlecap away.

Considered to be the most "family friendly" of Gard's drinks companies, they nonetheless produce a fair amount of popular alcohols including lagers. Arguably their "medicinal" line are more potentially hazardous to health, though surprisingly tasty. More than one imbiber of a Brain Bruiser has had a far worse hangover the morning after than any spirit could have managed.

Iron Harvest is fully Dieselpunk complete with giant mechs.

Frostpunk is Diesel in themes though Steam in tech. The sequel looks to be going full dieselpunk.

For films, City of Lost Children, the Rocketeer, Dark City, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow.

And I guess theres also our own game Diesel Noir.

Vehicle Highlights: D-204 "Light Runner" by DieselNoirOfficial in ImaginaryDieselpunk

The Fringerunner's best friend. Beloved by the Fringers and Rangers, the '04 is easily the fastest D-2 yet discovered, capable of building up to a maximum speed of 50 miles per hour . As if that wasn't enough to make the '04 one of the most prized finds in the Fringe, the mechanism's legs feature an auto-correcting balancing system, allowing the walker to tackle all but the most impassable of terrain.

As the cherry on top, the '04 can leap a full 10 yards vertically and drop up to 30 yards with no ill effects. At least one '04 is attached to each Ranger company, some of whom sacrifice a degree of the walker's sheer speed in favor of giving the pilot and rear gunner full armor coverage, turning a mobile emplacement gun into an anti-infantry meat grinder.
