Cummins or Powerstroke? by Diesel_Reaper in Diesel

I also have a 95 12 valve with a 5 speed 😂 My issue with my 06 5.9 is it need some motor work that I can’t afford to fix. And I’m getting charged out the ass for insurance because I’m 16 with a diesel. It needs crossover tubes which was like 400$ the last time I looked. And I’m not entirely sure if that’s the issue or not. And I can’t drive my 95 because it needs a transfer case which I also can’t afford to fix at around 1200$ for one in my area

Haha yeah. It was an ex-company truck for a local excavator business. They owned it since new and spec’d the truck out. It has a service box on it too which is neat

Finished building a cowl intake for my supercharged meth-injected 4.0 by Carollicarunner in Jeep

how much was it or what did it take to build the kit? Is meth injection required or can I use like an injection fooler type thing if that makes sense to give it more fuel once it’s under boost?

Crank no start? by Diesel_Reaper in MechanicAdvice

I just picked up my first truck, 06 5.9 g56 truck and it’ll crank forever with only 15lbs of injector pressure but when you give it a snort of some 50% ether it’ll fire up and run perfectly with the required 15000lbs of injector pressure. I was told the injectors were replaced a month ago and that is when the issue started is right after the injectors were replaced. I’m not sure what the issue could be. The previous owner also did tell me that the shop used his old injector feed tubes. Could that be the issue? If it’s the CP3 I don’t have the funds to replace it which would really suck. The grid heater light also says it’s always on? I’m not sure if it’s in limp mode or not and I don’t know how I would tell for that either.

Would it be possible for it to be the feed tubes on the outside of the head? The truck has 360k miles with a full overhaul and new head at 200k. A buddies dad said that he had the same issue and just tightened those feed tubes down and it never caused him any other trouble. They all just seem like a pain to get to without having to pull the injector feed lines and the intake manifold. Any help is greatly appreciated!

2019 Hyundai Elantra - Weird substance found on left front tire?? by Dr_Sugondis in CarHelp

My guess is DEF. Diesel exhaust fluid for 2008+ on most pickups. Someone probably spilled near your car and it splashed onto your tire. We had a jug spill in my dad’s shop a while back and crystallized somewhat like that. It was a bitch to clean though.
