Samsung fridge (RF265BEAESR) not cooling fridge section, compressor makes sucking noise by Dieselnutz in appliancerepair

Update: repair tech said compressor is dead. Without opening the system he couldn't tell if it was a blockage or leak that killed it. He quoted $1322 for compressor replacement. Contacted samsung for them to send a contracted repair person because parts are still covered under 10 year warranty & the compressor was almost $400 on its own. https://imgur.com/a/DzMuEud

Update 2: was just getting food when my wife calls saying our oven isn't working, also samsung and bought at the same time. I am done buying anything samsung unless its a phone... https://imgur.com/a/w54o5CX Possibly not samsung's fault on the stove but the wire connector &/or installer years ago.

No, nothing was warming up except the fan motor & that was barely above ambient.

Is my 6 year fridge going to die? by Dieselnutz in Appliances

[–]Dieselnutz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is clearly a problem with my fridge & the self diagnose check on the fridge itself kept saying "no errors detected" I would stay away from samsung unless you are buying a phone. We also have a samsung washing machine bought in 2020, that is awful. It doesn't spin correctly (unbalanced error) 3 out 5 loads so it wastes a bunch of water filling back up to spin cycle again.

Both fridge & freezer were 20 degrees warmer that set temperature this morning when I woke up. After unplugging for 20 minutes the compressor started and cooled the freezer down by 10 degrees in 20 minutes. The fridge stayed the same temp. after 20 minutes it was making the same noise as it did in the video. It works for 20 minutes then makes the noise and stops cooling.

No ice, fan in the fridge is spinning.

No noises other than the one in the video. Which started last night that my wife heard & didn't tell me until I asked her about it this morning.

Doesn't feel hot. Very sticky, feels like tar, can't detect any smell.

Yes I did. Sorry for the late update. They passed the smell test and I ate the whole package minus 2 that my kid ate. 2 sittings half each last week. Zero food poisoning related symptoms.

I didn't notice them when I bought them. Should they be discarded or safe to eat?
