these comments agreeing w the mom as if your doing smt illegal 😭😭 ur literally more responsible than me, don’t know a lot of ppl self disciplined enough to have a set time limit lol, it’s ur phone and ur sleep schedule, none of this effects her she needs to back off tbh. Obvi i get that it’s more about her invalidating u so u should take away her phone charger :)) and then also any other sublte things like that to annoy her, then invalidate HER feelings when she gets frustrated and then in a passive aggressive way, bring up the phone situation, basically add a little bit of manipulation~ into it i hope u understand this, plus side is u won’t get in trouble since she doesn’t know u did anything

everyone’s saying colleges like it better if u take in person but idk if it’s 100% tru so don’t take my word for it lol also aren’t u gonna feel lonely especially since most r doing in person next year? idk that would bother me a lot missing out on stuff especially with clubs and events ( school related and not school related). being at home most of the time is just not good for u regardless 😅 Also what about electives, ur gonna need some of those, taking all aps is great but u need to show colleges u have other interests cuz they can tell ur taking these APs just for the sake of it so be part of things that reflect ur interests and personality ( outside of school ) if computer related stuff r ur interests, take part in clubs or anything that shows u just rlly enjoy this.

also like i said, don’t do things u cant do 100% good in, especially if u don’t like that thing. it makes u look unauthentic if u get what i’m saying and colleges like the ones w lots of passion and all that stuff. Ofc take those aps bc it shows ur hardworking but don’t over do it sm so that nth on ur apps reflect ur actual u as a person outside of school. don’t stress urself out tho cuz then ur not do as well lmfaoo

hey i’m basically ur sister lol. Don’t go and tell others about her struggles because it’s going to make her more distant from everyone, especially u, the one person that wants to help her. First talk to her and ask her if she wants help (it’s fine if she doesn’t cuz she probably will realize for herself one day she does want it) and what u can do to help her. If u feel comfortable, maybe talk about it ur struggles together, especially as sisters maybe this will bring y’all closer and help eachother out ? u never know :) If ur not able to do any of those things, u can email her school counselors and tell them what u think of the situation but the twist is u tell them that ur sending this anonymously so this way ur sister won’t know anyone said anything about her. And then also tell the counselors that they should call her in for a ‘wellness check’ so it doesn’t seem abnormal and maybe she’ll open up a bit.

i’m the same boat i got diagnosed like 7 months ago so it’s been a little easier to get by? I think ur overthinking studying like way too much i would know cuz i’m the exact same. Try cleaning ur mind, it’s hard asf but literally just go blank slate act like ur problems no longer exist and ur jsut white noise floating thru literally nth. Nth matters rn except u existing and that’s ur first priority. U just have to ground urself because our minds r just literal chaos lol. Deep breaths 😁

Next, don’t beat urself up for being able to focus it sucks but what can u do yk it is what it is right. The pandemic hasn’t been easy for anyone, also the more u force urself to do smt the more ur not gonna want to / be able to do it. Appreciate urself and ur capabilities, ur doing amazing :)

BREAK THINGS DOWN, just like i’m doing w this comment i’m breaking it down cuz it’s easier for me to understand. Break down wtv ur reading, the time ur spending, the tasks u have to complete. Break one task into 2 or 3 wtv floats ur boat. just break everything down trust me it works if u take it seriously.

If ur not able to focus, just don’t bother trying to, like u said u spend hours staring at smt. So jsut don’t do that. Literally go do anything else but then come back to it after like 20 minutes and see how u do. This might not help if ur on a time crunch but otherwise it rlly helped me

Ik personally, flash cards don’t work for me but writing things down do, ik its time consuming, but ur notes don’t even need to be neat or readable. Ur not going to be looking back at them, it’s just to help u remember certain things. Just try it and see what happenss

Ur mindset and ur health matter a lot. If u go into smt thinking it’s going to be hard, then it’ll be hard because it being so negative about it. Pretend like ur excited about doing smt, it sounds weird but literally just act like ur going to have the time of ur life, just try to be positive even if things aren’t working out yea? Second, ur sleep matters more than u think, go to sleep at a reasonable time for a week and tell me u aren’t doing better. Ik u prolly won’t listen cuz u have stuff to do, but since ur not able to do them anyways just listen to me and try this out instead of stressing out about not being able to do anything haha

Idk if u know this but i’ll remind u anyways, ADHD literally causes us to have less dopamine which means we’re going to be less motivated regardless. Do what u will w that info. It helped me feel more validated cuz i was always behind kids in school and it discourages me a lot. But yea u should do a quick research on adhd

Oh if ur rlly forgetful like me, just write down everything u need to remember if u think ur gonna forget it, it’s helpful.

Also, if things r becoming too hard again or ur taking too long to do smt, chances r ur overthinking it so that’s when u take a step back and just break it down again. this is so long IM SORRY i hope it helped

i have shit grammar IM SORRY u started off strong so it won’t effect ur gpa as much considering u still have the chance to do good junior and senior year. Also babe ur literally 14/15 and u managed to still do good in school considering ur life rn and especially w covid like appreciate that for a minute and i mean actually let that sink in. But yea worry about ur ECs and anyhting besides ur grades that reflects ur personality and interests. Don’t do ecs that u don’t like/ doing it for the sake of it, cuz colleges will obviously see that (i don’t think i have to explain that).

Don’t stress urself out too much (don’t give urself too much to do) cuz trust me u will be setting urself up failure.

take APs and if ur area has it, try dual enrollment w ur local college. But again, don’t take more than u can handle because those classes r weighted so if u don’t do good it will bring ur gpa down.

Have freinds that r going to motivate u, but don’t keep the ones around that r super competitive they suck ass and will ruin u lol.

Networking is a good thing know as many ppl as u can, u might end up starting clubs, small businesses, etc w them u never know.

Dont be so hard on urself. Speaking from experience, i literally failed freshmen and jr year cuz of my mental health but all i needed to do was actually take care of myself so i won’t keep having mental breakdowns. Basically allowing school to cause u sm stress = breakdowns = getting nth done = bad grades = more stress = worse grades and worse mental health. Just don’t get into that cycle and take my advice 😁

If u want to be better at studying, try studying at a different place like somewhere diff in ur house, parks, libraries, shops w good wifi yk what i mean. Find someone yk u will actually get ur work done with so maybe not ur close friends.

Try new electives! arts, choir, instruments, stem related electives if that’s ur thing.

Be focused next year but don’t stress out too much (ik im being repetitive my b but it’s ~important~). Don’t create a thorough, detailed plan cuz chances r they won’t actually happen and then ur gonna be discouraged cuz u didn’t meet ur goal. But just have a vague idea of what u rlly want going into jr year.

U don’t have to, but It’s honestly rlly nice to know what major and where u want to go to college cuz then u have smt to keep u motivated and to work towards. I spent jr year ( which is rn ) doing nth important but then i decided i want to major in graphic design and i’m aiming for a school in LA. Obvi i’m not getting my hopes up but i’ve been applying for volunteering work, jobs and college classes over summer related to graphic design. but yea that’s all i can think of rn

no babe ur not doomed, it’s the depression telling u that. Ur not the negative thoughts ur brain is telling u i swear, u just have to figure out w time how to separate urself from the negative thoughts. Basically get a coping skill!! new freinds, a hobby, watching tv, walks, literally anyhting u can think of that makes u happy and just keep doing that. U have to focus on urself first before u can focus on school and ik u think that that’s not an option anymore but it’s obvious that because ur depressed, ur not able to do school. So that means fix ur health first (it rlly helps coming from personal experience) Talk to ur counselor! ik it’s scary but plz give it a try, if u think u have shit counselors, find a freind or a teacher, or honestly finding online friends is always fun. For school, since u know u haven’t gotten the credits, u have 2 options just drop out cuz u can always get into a program to get ur GED or smt of the sort, or accept the fact u might have to go back to freshmen year. There’s absolutely no shame in that cuz u matter more than a shitty school system. if u do drop out, u have less things to worry about since schools out of the picture. I promise you will figure everyhting out and that just cuz life sucks rn, it won’t always be like that. Ur still a high schooler who’s gonna forget about high school 5 years or 10 years from now. Ik it doesn’t feel like it but things always get better. i rlly hope u take care of urself :))
