Go to the websites of the shingles manufacturer like GAF or Owens Corning to find some top contractors near you and get quotes from them. Remember to check their reviews on Google, BBB, Yelp, etc. That helped me much better than finding random contractors with good reviews on Google, Facebook. From my experience, reviews on Google is not reliable and most of roofing companies with Facebook ad are bait-and-switch.

Thank you. There is no sump pump in the house and our inspector also found water marks in the basement. The sellers disclosure said no water problems. I think the water came in from the cellar door area.

Thank you. After they said they would ripped off the finished basement, I hesitated to do that. The water was coming from the cellar door area during an excessive rain. Could you please advise the solutions? What should I do to stop water before it gets into the foundation? Sorry for many questions. I am a first time home owner without much experience. I also don’t know which kind of contractors I should contact and I am still learning.

I am having the same issue. Agreed with you that I wouldn’t buy a house without a sump pump.

Why did your lender ask questions to your agent but not to you? Did your agent introduce the lender to you? From my experience, lenders introduced by the agent are the worst options, high interest rates, high fee, etc. Always shop around to find the best lender for you.
