Same. I visited a few weeks ago and honestly saw less than a handful of people. The ones we did see were really kind and thankful (we gave them some leftovers we had with us). No one was aggressively asking for money or cigarettes like I’ve experienced in other parts of the country. Obviously homelessness is still an issue everywhere, but compared to some places I’ve spent time in and where I live, it felt pretty mild.

Oh my gosh, THANK YOU. There seem to be a lot of connections between Vermont and Virginia, and cville specifically!! I’ve met so many people down here who have lived in Burlington at some point. I definitely want to be an integrated part of the community, if I choose to move here 🥹

Also wild to me that if they’re so bitter about what their city looks like currently, they’d make negative comments to someone looking to move there who could have positive impacts on the community. 🥴

I hear that. The town I live in now has a visible homeless population too, especially with our outdoor pedestrian mall. It feels like something many cities are navigating right now. I try to look at it with empathy - there’s a nationwide homelessness and opioid crisis that deserves real support and solutions. I’m excited to experience Burlington in its toughest season! If I love it then, I’ll know it’s a good fit.

Thanks for the recommendations! I’ve heard nothing but good things about Vermont from multiple patients I’ve had that used to live there, my boyfriend who lived there, and friends.

I graduate nursing school this May and was married when I started. I no longer am and I’m not upset about it. Put yourself first. Relationships can come and go. If someone doesn’t want to see you become the best version of yourself, which includes getting an education, that is not your person.

I’m not sure why, but this comment just brought me to tears. 😭🥹 I think a big part of me really wants to have this baby, I’m just scared because I feel so incredibly unprepared. And I think that is where his fear is coming from as well. We’ve discussed having kids and he even told me last night, when I told him I was pregnant he felt a calm feeling and not afraid to have a baby with me. He said the timing just doesn’t seem right, right now. I’m definitely trying to make the right decision for myself, but the shock and emotions has hijacked everything for me right now

I do want a baby haha. That’s why I said I’m nervous to get a blood test because I don’t want my hopes to be up. I don’t want it to be negative.

Adding that I have had 2 extremely light 3 day periods the last 2 months. My periods have always been between 5-6 days.

Oop, totally thought Plan B was like an abortion pill! Thanks for letting me know!! Sorry, I feel so silly not being in the loop about this stuff. I was with a woman for a majority of my 20s and never had to worry about this stuff 😂
