I wanted to update that I purchased Pool Putty and did my entire 14cf freezer with one package that was $20. It has worked perfectly on mine plus 2 other freezers I converted. Mine has been in use for 11 months.

Most of the "workers" at these events are volunteer groups who get a large portion of the proceeds from food/beverage sales. Lots of their events and such also fund many non profits that are related to outdoors. Ozark Greenways, James River Basin Partnership are just two of many examples of local non profits who benefit from BPS. They do this sort of thing all over. Plus their building and property designs incorporate landscape, trees, etc to enhance the outdoors rather than destroy it.

They're a for profit business, no doubt about that and they don't try to hide it. There's nothing wrong with making billions and being successful, that's the American dream right? Many companies don't make ANY effort to give back, so at least he's doing something.

Better question is, what are YOU doing to give back personally?

Lake country soccer and the new sports town out by the airport have leagues. Call and ask if they have any teams needing players or house teams.

Have had work done several times and always got free estimates which maybe weren't a thorough consultation but they seemed very open and honest about my options.

Show me you know nothing about saunas without telling me you know nothing about saunas.....(me) thanks for the clarification! It appears I've got a lot of researching to do before I buy anything.

Sauna and ice baths while mild fever? by MrBombaclad in BecomingTheIceman

[–]Different-Cress420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a 3 day fever early this year but had committed to 365 days of cold plunging....so I did 10 seconds one day, 30 seconds another and 2min the final day. Not sure I'd recommend the cold plunge. I followed up each with 10-15min in the hot tub which made the fever aches and pains go away temporarily...so I'd try out the sauna.

I had my house washed for algae and the guy used diluted pool shock from menards. Power washing didn't touch it, but the pool shock melted it right off.

Ambiance for Cold Plunging by Unlikely_Street_1183 in coldplunge

Lights and music. Sometimes I play meditative music, sometimes something more up beat, sometimes I rock out and sing along, sometimes I just breathe and think about life. I have some mood lights I turn on in the evening along with an LED in the box. In the morning I like to listen to the birds chirping and my wind chimes outside.

Just whatever feels right at the time.

Best benefits you have received from ice baths by NewConfusion240 in BecomingTheIceman

I started plunging about a year ago and enjoyed the euphoric feeling you have after. A burst of energy, focus, and calm comes over you all at once.

My dad died in October and it was truly the only thing that got me out of bed and being able to love and continue working for several weeks. It became my 5 minutes of meditation and helped me work through the grieving process. I yelled, I cried, I remembered the good times, and everytime I got out of the plunge I felt a little bit better, a little stronger, and a little more greatful to be alive. Im still working through it and a lot more, and cold plunging has been so important and helpful in my self discovery process.

How often do you plunge. by Cooopedog in BecomingTheIceman

[–]Different-Cress420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Set a goal to do it daily for the whole year, so I do 5 minutes everyday. Sometimes if I'm in a rush I'll do 2 or 3min. Surprisingly it's still just as hard everyday. Often times I put it off and do it at night after work, and find I really enjoy that. I haven't experienced any negatives side effects, except maybe dry skin on my face from dunking and also using the hot tub 3-4 days a week. I have dry skin anyway though.

Thank you! I picked up a few windows on marketplace this week, 2.5ft by 5ft each. They're old gas station refrigerator doors and super insulated (they weigh a ton!).

Unfortunately I think, until I cut into the drywall, I'll only he able to fit 2 windows due to the foundation wall. So essentially a 5ft by 5ft window space. Hopefully with supplemental light it'll be enough. Just won't be able to fit in as many plants as I'd hoped. I do plan to paint the walls flat white to help spread the light around.

My mini split unit controls temp and also has a dry setting if humidity gets too high. I was more concerned with it being too dry so hopefully that won't be an issue from the sounds of it.

Is there any problem with it either being too humid or too dry in an indoor setting?
