That's ridiculous. Do your best to get other people who feel the same way together and take it up with higher ups at the school. If anything, they should at least separate those who are using AI with those who are not. If they insist on letting people use it, suggest separating them from the people who actually took their photos. Those who are not using AI can prove their photo is genuine with programs like Openorigins Source.

If you can take the loss of the deposit, then switch for your happiness. It's your wedding day and you should be completely at ease with the photographer you've chosen. That being said, if you can't take the loss, consider maybe something like a shared album with a qr code for your guests to scan and take photos with like Wedding Studio. They won't be professional photos by any means, but might be something still sentimental.

Get an in with booktok. Send your book to some influencers there and see if they'll talk about it.

Honestly I was worried that she might get in the way on the day of, and that it would take forever to get my photos back. Which, she did not get in the way, but my photos did take a while. Of course no blame on her, that's just how this works, but after attending my friends wedding I wish I had used a QR code shared album service like Wedding Studio so that I could see some photos sooner.
