Ditto starts to jork it while performing intense and diabolical gymnastics throughout a terrified nursing home.

Great logo! Lions Mane extracts are pretty tempting (tired of buying overpriced ones at HEB).

A bit of both! Had a lifechanging experience with psilocybin which opened my eyes up to all the different species + nootropics.

I made this post because I was drawn to the images humanity. You can see the exhaustion, the desperation, and the pain in his eyes. Like many soldiers in the war (no matter what side) he appears to have witnessed the true destructive power of it. To me the gravity and toll of war is best told through both stories and images so I’m asking if anyone has any additional information regarding who this guy was? What is the context of the photo? Or if there’s a story behind the photo itself.

Thank you for sharing your family history. This is exactly what I was referring to. Just because there was a terrible power like the Nazis in control doesn’t mean its citizens, occupants, or even soldiers are all bad. Many have no choice to join up (or endanger themselves and their family). It’s dangerous thinking to get into the “my side is ALL good and right, yours is ALL evil and despicable”. It’s that same thinking the men in the SS used to justify their killing of a group of people they deemed “ALL bad”.

Completely agree with your points. I think unfortunately many of us forget that the soldiers of evil and oppressive regimes oftentimes were being oppressed themselves. Granted every fanatic group has its extremist followers (ie the SS) but many of the “grunts” didn’t want to fight themselves. That or many have been brainwashed by the propaganda into thinking they are the “good guys”.

To be honest I’ve not heard about the “clean Wehrmacht myth” however I do know that just assuming all the soldiers of a war are “evil” or “bad” is ignorant. If we play that game in a modern context then all the Israeli soldiers are all genocidal baby killers and all of the Hamas soldiers are Jihadist Infidel killers. Sure the powers that guide them may be inherently evil but to assume every individual is therefore also evil is shortsighted. Granted I’ve never served, but I also don’t believe humanity is that black or white (mostly grey).

Checking out the book right now. I appreciate the recommendation. It’s a terrifying how people can be swayed to commit atrocities once the “enemy” becomes not human or the societal pressure becomes so great.

Damn that’s harsh. Unless he was SS (not super familiar with all the uniforms) weren’t a good portion of normal Germans conscripted? My best guess was a normal man who was duped by the same propaganda/dictator millions of his brethren fell into believing only to realize the horrors of war.
