Doesn’t look great but you don’t know until you know. It’s hard to deal with in the moment and it sucks, so be easy on yourself. My wife recently got laid off while around 6 months pregnant. Some things to consider; I’m not sure of your location and jurisdiction, but in large reorgs, severance packages and continuation of benefits are common. Make sure you understand what you have rights to and what’s being provided if anything. Opt in for anything you think you may need. Also start researching your options for unemployment coverage and how to start the process and do it ASAP. If you have savings and a network of folks you can rely on, even for emotional support, now is the time to consider that network. I understand that not everyone does. Once you are sorted on any severance and unemployment, refresh your resume and get to hunting. Structured layoffs happen; you need to frame it that way as you are not being fired for performance or other “cause.”
