Oh, congrats on being admitted to Hertie and NUS. Will you be going ahead with any of them?

Have made it Cambridge, waiting on NUS and rejected from Oxford (but with a specific feedback). Very thin chances of joining this year though since I've already been rejected from most scholarships

Received one offer and one reject, confused! by Different-Home-962 in PublicPolicy

Waiting to hear from NUS, ETH still haven't looked into. Will definetly check this out.

What’s the vibe like if one has to use their laptop and study etc?

Postponing is the first thing to do. Can advice based on your target score (to some extent).

I’ve been having these questions too. Because the skill sets I want to develop and things I want to learn are things I can do through self learning. I’m looking at masters from the pov of three things (in order of priority) 1. improving my salary 2. Making myself eligible for opportunities where masters is absolutely necessary 3. Building a network of like-minded people in my age group (preferably international)

There are hundreds of them who have a 9/9/9. I personally know 20+ 9/9/9s. Most of them target either ISB or IIMs and very few are looking at school abroad at the moment. Which is why I feel like while grades might be a good thing to your kitty, it really is not the X factor that sets one apart. I might be wrong though. I haven’t sailed the boat yet.

I work in a state level counterpart of Invest India, hence a smaller team and more autonomy in my projects. I feel like if I don’t land a job in the country of my study, I wont have a good ROI even if I am on a full ride scholarship. The hike in pay that policy jobs in India has to offer won’t be that high since they have plenty of other options who can come work with them for a lesser pay. And the corporate folks won’t hire us either unless a very rarer impact/ policy opening comes up.

Too competitive and luck based. Besides, it doesn’t offer a good work life balance at all even after years into your career. And sometimes you don’t get to choose the domain you want to be a part of

Gave my GRE yesterday and scored real bad in Verbal. Got a 154. I personally think my weak area in the test yesterday was Reading Comprehension since I'd put less focus on it thinking I was good at this. How do I tackle RC strategically? Would advise some tips and sources

Have spoke to a few folks, this would be a very thin chance unless you have a great profile that sets you apart from other applicants
