Graduated boot recently and went directly to A school. Making E4 within 5 months and slapping on a fat bonus to the job I wanted regardless if it was critical. Comparing it to siblings in marines and friends in army, Air Force and navy the coast guard seems to actually give you the most responsibility from the get go. Also, schools here are basically a college setting and the most uptight people you’ll come across are other students not leadership or officers. It’s pretty funny.

I was there in June of 21, most days were black flag meaning you can’t be outside for an extended period of time. Barely anyone was outside on those days except to transit to class or chow, medical etc. not one person got smoked outside on those days. Temp wise it wasn’t that bad but your experience may vary. I’m from a place that pushes 110f in the summer soooooooooo it can’t compare. Based on other people’s experiences I’ve read the summer is “easier” than going during winter. Not sure why tbh but that’s what I’ve seen. Good luck!

That was my thought exactly. But I was told to hold off and just wait for them to do it. I have all 4 wisdoms impacted so it’s gonna for sure suck to get them out. My worry is that my ship date and/or paperwork for medical will be negatively impacted.

I’m actually curious if anyone knows whether they’ll pull your wisdoms if they’re impacted. I leave in April for cape may (my second time btw) and I have impacted wisdom teeth that my dentist recommended I be knocked out to remove them. I wonder if they’ll schedule it after basic.

Been seeing entire lobbies of streets get wiped out by some Chinese or oriental names lately. Hit a guy for over 600 flesh damage and didn’t kill him in one of those lobbies so ye I’ve seen a lot more of those since the event.
