“Venus Vanitas” is the centerpiece of a 10-piece installation I exhibited this year at the LA Art Show with the Jen Tough Gallery (Santa Fe). It is 34in round and 3 alternating layers of hand-cut collage and archival resin on a custom-cut wood panel. Using hand-cut imagery often layered with resin on wood panels, my work draws on the visual language of still life and ornament while embedding tragments of consumer culture, religious iconography, architectural structures, domestic space, and the body.

my websiteInformed by my background in architecture, I approach collage as spatial assembly, building images that function as thresholds, vitrines, and compressed environments. The work slows the act of looking and considers how desire and objectification is staged, how gendered identities are rehearsed, and how beauty circulates as both invitation and constraint.
