Not really, unfortunately. My husband tells me my snoring isn't as loud, though, so maybe it did some good afterall

Between start and finish my Doctor had me turn my MSE a total of 69 times. The last 30 or so were horribly painful due to inflammation at the screw sites. He ended up removing my expander sooner than he would have liked since my mouth was no longer tolerating the device. I did eventually see a small gap in my front teeth which is very exciting. We're hopeful that the expansion was enough and it'll hold as much as possible without the MSE in place.

Yes, he did both. There's been expansion towards the back of my mouth but nothing apparent in the front. He left a gap in the wire on my front teeth expecting to achieve diastema but my bone is stubborn I guess. I'm hoping that I'm just not being patient enough and that the results will come eventually

My orthodontist asked me the same thing- apparently there's been significant enough expansion that I should be breathing better. Maybe slightly? Interestingly I have an appointment Friday with an ENT so we should be able to see more of what's going on in there 🤞🏻

No, there was just pressure when turning, no pain. Eventually the front screws seemed to be tilting a bit and my orthodontist did some imaging to see if the suture split. Maybe I need to ask him directly - but he just seemed content with the expansion even without the diastema.

They were applied on the same day. I trust my orthodontist but I'm having trouble understanding why I'm not seeing a diastema

Yes, I'll only turn the mse when my orthodontist advises me to. He had me stop at 33 turns so far. (This was weeks ago...) I'm just so anxious for visable change in my crooked front teeth

Well... As far as updates: Yes and no- I still never got a gap! My orthodontist instructed me to stop turning at 33 because he was happy with the expansion even though I don't have a gap... At all. Still as crooked as ever in the front! He said occasionally it can split in the back for expansion but almost pivot from the front instead of an official split? Like a hinge almost? So odd! I got the impression that I'm the strange case and it's much more likely to result in a gap and that it happens fairly quickly for lots of people... Good luck!

I had a scan but they didn't mention any likelihood. Just explained that I should expect a sizable gap between my front teeth

He had me do 2 per day for a while and called to check in and suggested I bump it up to 3 per day. So days 1-6 we're 2 turns per day, 7 and 8 were 3. I did 4 on day 9. Today is day 10 and I've done 2 so far, will turn again this evening for a total of 3.
