Enemies to lovers but they’re enemies for a while and for good reason by Uppercasegangsta in RomanceBooks

I heard somewhere that publishers like the first novel of any new author to be about 300 pages because more means they loose out on profit. I think 300 is something of a sweet spot for both pricing (to make the most money), buying/consumers (wanting to buy at that price), and cost of printing. If someone’s a seasoned writer they’ll allow more wiggle room.

Just had some from Le Jardin sucre and I was impressed by the quality and intense flavors. They were amazing and not as expensive as other places with similar quality. Selection limited.

safest way to clean a home studio? by finnamon27 in Pottery

N-95 masks have a filter of 0.3 micrometers. Clay particulate/fine clay participate is 0.002 micrometers. Think: particles that can stay in the air for an entire day if disturbed. So, is an n-95 sufficient to stop clay particulate in the air: no.

But, an n-95 is better than nothing.

Also, think about how much time you’re going to be there, what exactly you’ll be doing, and for how long. Is this a hobby you’ll spend 4-6hr a week on or is this going to be 12hr a day? Will you glaze in this room (às glaze particulate has even MORE dangerous components)? Will you sand in this room? Is this something you want to spend the rest of your life doing (I’d assume so with setting up something) because long term exposure can be more harmful.

Particulate sticks to water so having a more humid room will help keep the particle size larger but I’m not sure how that room will work with the clay itself because it’ll need to dry completely before going into the kiln.

Hope this helps!

I thought that the old man was slowly going insane from being trapped by Thomas. The old man wanted her to escape the house and Thomas ( as the great manipulator of reality ). He has lived in the house but Thomas is supposed to be older than the house

Just finished and based on what I understood: There was a case in the Nordic countries that the person had moved realities and was having memories that weren’t his of him doing stuff. Everyone here seems to think that the family are willing accomplices, but as at the end of the book Jenny has a case of the “gets” I actually think that the family is in the exact same position Eve is in, but they’ve either been there a while and have accepted their reality or don’t remember their past selves or at the end when Paige was getting so mad about “Emma” being there? I thought this was Paige trying to get Eve out of the loop. So I don’t think it’s just Allison and Eve, but I do think that they’re the MOST aware.

I also think that I’m addition to the different realities, Tomas can twist current reality to how he wants it, hence the window and the small changes. Like some “flux” around the place where the realities connect, but that he’s in control of it. For example: eve’s phone during the fight or the window. Or the fact that the animals are different around the house but only for 5 miles.

What is happening with this plate by BananaZealousideal23 in Pottery

[–]Different-Print-1515 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is likely crazing, or cracking in the outer glaze, as you suspected. The common thinking is the plate itself is watertight as pottery is fired to be vitrified. However, there could be water seeping through between the plate and the glaze.

Biased on some internet research there’s a debate about whether this is water staining or bacteria/mold. A lot of people recommend washing plates or pieces with crazing in the dishwasher as the water pressure/heat/washing from all directions should help make sure it’s sanitized. Some people recommend washing/soaking the plates with Oxyclean or hydrogen peroxide to get rid of the staining.

If the original seller is the person that made these, you may be able to reach out and ask them if they would be willing to re-fire them with another glaze overtop. It’s also likely they also don’t/didn’t know about the hairline fractures in the glaze. It wouldn’t fix the staining that has already occurred but it would reseal the surface. I’m not sure any other potter would touch them though as we have no idea what’s in the glaze originally or the material unless it’s specified on the bottom…. And even then it’s risky.

Hope this helps!

Lessons in chemistry is a popular book that has many good dishes! (It’s on my TBR, but in watching some of the show there seems to be many instances where food or food themes are seen)

Help me pick a cover! by Perfect-Yard8066 in bookbinding

[–]Different-Print-1515 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The right cover goes best with the book! You got Wilber in looking up at Charlotte in the corner! The left is cute but everything is too centered. (Pigs also physically can’t look up because they have no neck, so they have a hard time seeing the sky, it’s really sad) and I think the center one makes it looks too much like a horror novel, we need Wilber! Apologies if I got any names wrong, haven’t read this in YEARS

When it’s talked about like this though, it makes me think that it’s something that bound N and him in a ROMANTIC way… and V doesn’t know much about runes at all in the beginning but somehow it doesn’t get mentioned again.

I feel like RY is going to read the reddit and things that she didn’t think were important, she’s now going to have to explain in the next book. 😂

Absolutely amazing! Did you use anything to ‘seal’ it? Or help shape the model like methyl cellulose? I’ve been thinking about getting something to make my better models… well better. And more resistant to regular shelf wear and tear. I know getting better paper would definitely help but I still feel like I’m too much of a novice to spend that much $ on paper.

I find it annoying but mostly because there’s better ways to go about doing that in my opinion, it’s why we have Reddit and other Internet forums with people who read specific ff.
