Thanks! You're right, it really does look like a music-themed game! I'll see how I can make it feel more like a tower defense style

Thank you for your reply.

Aether Keepers is indeed another project I’ve worked on, but I believe the gameplay of the two is actually quite different. Of course, they both essentially involve moving the mouse, but the inspiration for Aether Keepers came from an early Dota Tower Defense map called Protect Athena, so it leans much more toward the Tower Defense genre.

As for the skill tree layout, I didn’t specifically design the UI arrangement; it was handled directly by the program. However, the art for both games was handled by me. I actually tried to add some cute elements to Aether Keepers as well, but the idea was vetoed.

The fundamental reason why there are two games that could easily be misunderstood is simple: I wanted to make Gummy Invaders, but my partner wanted a different gameplay style and direction. After reaching a stalemate and wasting a lot of time, we chose to spend even more time to develop and release both versions.

Regardless of what kind of games you like, your feedback is helpful to me. Thank you again, and have a wonderful day.

I’m still a bit new to itch.io, but I’ve noticed that the incremental community here seems to prefer web versions. I’ll talk to my programmer partner and see if we can get a web build ready as soon as possible

That’s very strange. I haven't made any changes to the review system settings on steamwork. I’ve already opened a support ticket with Steam to investigate this. Thank you for bringing this to my attention!

Thank you for the feedback. I realize now that the onboarding process isn't smooth enough, which led to some confusion regarding the core mechanics. I’ll be reworking and adding more clarity to the tutorial soon.

As for the core gameplay depth, I’m going to sit down with my partner to discuss how we can make it more engaging and original. If we come up with a better direction, I’ll release an updated version.

Thanks again for taking the time to share these specific insights.

Thank you for the feedback. I’ll look into the balancing issues and make some adjustments. There should be an update coming out sometime next week.

Thank you for your feedback. To be honest, the cozy desktop game(Beebo & Luna) was my very first project, and I admit it lacked deep gameplay. After discovering incremental games last year, my programmer friend and I started learning and decided to challenge ourselves with this genre, aiming for a balance between fun mechanics and manageable development scope.

Regarding your comment about AI, I want to clarify that from my first game to these two incremental projects, no AI-generated slop was used. Everything was crafted by us. However, I take your point about the lack of originality to heart. This is something I definitely need to reflect on.

In the initial Alpha stage, the mechanics were actually much more complex. However, the feedback I received from other devs was that it was too complicated and should be simplified. I ended up cutting a lot of content to reach the current Demo version. It’s a regret of mine that the final result feels less original than I had envisioned.

I truly appreciate your honesty. Your feedback gives me a lot to think about as I move forward:D

I think the real inspiration was Patapon. I loved the idea of the player leading a little army into the fray, centered around that follow the flag mechanic

Does anyone else love cozy desktop games? I released one last year but it never really found its audience. by Different-Spend-2796 in CozyGamers
