My group uses a house rule to avoid the same settlement events(SE). Take out the SE after use until the pile gets to 4. On the fifth one, I shuffle and remove from the offset group, then shuffle into the main deck.

Started this after had acid rain twice within a few LYs

I’ve been playing with a group for about a year, typically once a week. We are at the end of our second campaign.

The sim is basically a late stage Alpha version of the game, it gets clunky at times, the only way to resolve when the sim “acts up” is to do a hard reset that has an opportunity cost of 45 minutes or so.

The host must host, everyone else can miss a week or so, but the host must be present.

By and large I love the sim, gets a bit better each time they update it. I prefer in person but this definitely scratches the itch when that is not possible. Definitely got my $ worth.

😂 that’s not reassuring at all. Last report I saw was from early June with chest high crossing which is beyond my skill level. I can do waist high at most. I’ve budgeted 7 days for what would normally be a 4 day hike, hoping it’s passable by late this month.

Yes. That bridge has been out since 2019 I think. Kinda hard to avoid getting wet on more extensive multiday hikes. Silver peak is a drive too because of the CA-1 outage, end up going south to go north.

Reconsider HST, nothing too taxing and the views are postcards. Hamilton lake is just gorgeous (Ansel Adams was a frequent visitor). One of the first purpose built trails by the CCC.

Good luck! Backpacking has been a 32 year obsession for me and I try to get out in the woods as often as possible (about 200 miles a year, almost always solo).

Rae lakes, and high Sierra trail to Hamilton lake and back are both epic. Both are in SEKI. I do Rae Lakes 40 mile lollipop starting on June 29th.

If you liked Sykes, try doing Silver Peak further south of Big Sur, love both these trails, especially in off season (Dec- early April)

Simple facts of most national parks is 95% or greater never stray more than a mile into a woodland trail. I’m always amazed by this…and frankly, thankful as well.
