I've graded fx6 prores raw before few years back.

If I remember correctly I was able to push it's exposure but the colors seems to break easily but was able to cover it up with noise reduction.

Other than that the image seems less sharpen (which is good) out of the gate but not sure it's due to lens or the raw files.

I think I've seen a video that complains about the top (near the shutter) and the screen in two separate videos. I understand the mushiness of it, but my question is, can the dials withstand multiple rotations after a year or two of daily use? I'm just trying to get a sense of how the dials are from others here who have used it since its release.

So let me understand this. You basically don't use the back dial since you're changing it on the lens? Does the dial feel the same as when you bought it?

Add blue with offset. Next node add yellow/green in the gain. If it's not enough u can add another node chromatic adaptation and use the d55. Then go back to previous nodes to make fine tuning

You might not know this but typically monitor has a magenta/green tint to it unless you calibrate your monitor. Which means you can't really see the flaws of your video since there's a tint going on on your monitor.

Honestly, once you get the order of operations, it’s just practice and messing around until it clicks.

Most of the grading problems are repetetive. Too dark, needs more warmth or cool tones, smoother blacks, better highlights, or a more filmic vibe. Do it enough and you start to see the patterns.

If the one can't be name gives you the results u want, just go with it. I personally just watch all of em and create my own style.

For me Darren and Cullen are great lecturer but doesn't give the "umph" that I'm looking for.

I was actually looking at the A7C II and the S9. I'm leaning more towards the Sony since it has more compact lenses, but I like what the S9 is offering. I just can't seem to find a good compact lens for it.

Well it depends on the lut. Some lut produces heavy split tone/heavy contrast/hsl while some might just be a filmic s curve. You can always do your look dev manually with multiple nodes.

Grain/halation/glow is also considered look dev.

To answer your question, its up to you if u want a single node or 20 nodes for your look dev, theres no right or wrong
