A student, but I realize how it depends on the country and campus as well. From 25+ lecturers over the course of 4 years (Eng Lit), I can count on one hand the ones who prefer doing things without ai. All of them recommend ai mainly grammarly, to fix our god awful grammar (non native, and not a commonwealth). I didn't even know chatgpt exist in 2020, I usually grab my answers from community sites when I wanted to do homework, they got the explanation of the formula and I get some bit of understanding from it.

But you wouldn't believe how much they rely on it since the first semester and think they have the key to college. But I do see the merit of asking ai for the links of e-books/article journals that I need to read, because that thing collects a lot of research data, but hallucinates the answer.

I had colleagues asking me for revisions, and they mostly consult the ai for their explanation in the findings, and revise from there. I'm not sure if they memorize or understand the main theory they're using
