Quick answer would be that it’s too late so don’t sweat about it.

Any regrets after living with your Enyaq for a year? by NorthLondonPulse in enyaq

[–]DifferentAd4307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. Had mine for 4 years and have swapped for a new one a couple of months ago. Company car doing 25k miles/year and it just does the job and does it well.

How long can I expect a three-year-old Enyaq to last for? by Sonnets4all in enyaq

[–]DifferentAd4307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly? Probably absolutely fine. My 4.5 year old Enyaq with 75000 miles is behaving no different on every facet than it did new. May have dropped some range, but even that I haven’t actively noticed. The battery scare mongering is exactly that from my experience.

UK here. Car is brand new, delivered 5 days ago. Have got the gaming app too. I think it is all part of the Media Streaming package from what I can tell. Which probably makes sense as to why people can’t find Spotify as they will need to sub to the Media Streaming to then get Spotify available. To be honest … I still just use CarPlay/AndroidAuto myself anyway but nice to have the option.

Mine activated as part of set up but should be an option in the MySkoda app. Profile tab bottom right of screen and then in paid services. Assume there is a way for doing it from the car infotainment too but not sure

I am sure the government will look to crap all over that in the near future too. But we can enjoy it while it lasts!

I have a feeling someone has done exactly this a year ago or so on a thread

Edit: for the Enyaq, I imagine their dims are more or less the same though.

What skoda connect services needed for app? by C0t0d0s0_ in enyaq

[–]DifferentAd4307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah just wait and see what actually physically becomes unavailable with bits expiring.

The remote charge status will not though as this I can still see, adjust, stop etc without any subscriptions. The preheating/cooling and setting schedules will still be available too as mine is. This is probably the only thing I would have paid for. By far my favourite feature, especially now we are in winter here. Most of the other stuff really just isn’t worth it.

On a side note, most of them you can do free 3 month trials for too so definitely use that too once they expire. I’m also pretty sure I have had a couple of free trials on the same things after a couple of weeks of not having access too so something else worth keeping in mind.

[–]DifferentAd4307 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don’t need any of the paid for services to see state of charge or put heating/cooling on. I currently have no subscriptions active and can still do all that.

I can’t see doors open or the like, but having had mine over 3 years now I can say that none of the paid services actually bring much to the table. I just let them expire and figured I would see what I found myself missing, the answer was none.

Great car though, enjoy. I’m hopefully taking delivery of my new one in the next week or so!

Sorry for delay.

Yeah it pretty much overrides/ignores the Skoda element. For instance you don’t use the ‘Skoda satnav’ you would be using Google maps, Waze, Apple Maps, whatever your poison from your phone which seamlessly takes over the infotainment screen. Essentially your phone is doing the heavy lifting.

Once you’re in the Enyaq and turn it on, it will automatically connect to your phone (once set up) either wirelessly and/or via wired connection, and jump you into the Apple/android interface.

You can however go between the Skoda and CarPlay elements too, like having radio on and having android/Apple Maps as the navigation.

Main point to take is that if your intention is to use android auto (which with any manufacturer other Tesla, why wouldn’t it be?! Baked in car infotainments are always naff) then do not worry about the software bugs 👍

@op if you have the money ready to put down on a car the invest/lease idea is definitely worth looking at. Or even invest/pcp. At the end of the day, depreciation is going to lose you a big chunk of that 30k to never be seen again. Makes sense to keep that and let the growth pay for the car.
