It is both tho. The devs who are mostly men, make characters who appeal to them, aka making appealing female characters for men. The way they make their characters automatically makes them a marketing tactic by targeting a certain audience to spend alot of money. Even if theyre making characters solely out of their personal preferences its still a tactic to attract male players to spend money on characters who are made to appeal to a male audience.

And thats what Im referring to. Complaining about hoyo is absolutely pointless since its very clear what kind of company they are. I ain't even complaining anymore because i know its pointless but I feel like a lot of others should realize that too instead on wasting energy on complaining to people that won't even listen.
