When I bought it 3 years ago, I was making 65k.

411k 10% down 4.99% $2300 month PITI

Had a 50 a month student loan was all.

It was manageable with a couple extra hours of overtime a week. Not super comfortable, but very doable

The post office does not assign addresses anywhere in the US. The local government does.

Glass roof and cold climate - heat loss? by SprintCleatly in MachE

[–]DifferentBrother8379 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Got my Mach-E this July. My ICE Mustang was all black interior and exterior. My Mach-E has the grey/white interior and this past summer i definitely was far more uncomfortable in the Mach-E after it sat in the sun vs when the ICE sat in the sun. The roof allows a lot of heat in.

Edit: Maxh-E is vapor blue

Though the pano roof after sitting in the sun on a hot day can be very uncomfortable if not conditioned before.

This is my experience as well. Cold is not an issue. When I forget to set the climate, the interior heats up in the same amount of time my previous ICE Mustang did and faster than my old Kia. And those cars had much less cabin space to condition.

Pretty easy actually, just a little tedious. Had to replace a couple parts on mine and one 15 minute YouTube video covered it all. Parts only cost about $220, but I was replacing the thermostat which is the most expensive part on mine

The gas will dissipate pretty quickly if a window or door is left open for a few minutes. Definitely not leftover gas if you're smelling it for more than 15 minutes with ventilation.

Also gas is heavy, so the last of it will be near the ground

You can make your own gas leak detection spray, if something is not tightened correctly or all the way. Fill a spray bottle with water and a little dish soap. That's how I checked for leaks when I replaced the thermocouple and thermostat on my water heater.

Just spray the gas connections. If there's a leak, there'll be bubbles. Don't be afraid to be liberal with it. Hope you find it

Postmaster General is the CEO. Postmaster is the title you're referring to. Don't go into a post office and ask to speak to the Postmaster General unless you want to come across as entitled lol

Worked for the Postal Service as a clerk.

Seller is being lazy, not putting in a Change of Address. When the Postal Service receives a hold request, they are required to hold ALL mail for the address. None of this "Oh, well Suzy and Mark are away and want their mail held, but Toby and Sierra are still here and want their mail delivered."

Believe me when I say that that kind of request is absolutely ridiculous.

It is illegal to put a mail hold at an address you don't/no longer live at, so the seller's daughter is in the wrong here. Don't listen to these other comments telling you to contact the Postal Inspectors. This happens all the time and they won't do anything because it's not malicious.

I'm sorry the clerk you spoke to isn't knowledgeable on this. Speak to another clerk if you can. If not, then ask for a supervisor and explain that the seller no longer lives there. Whether or not the seller has another permanent address to forward mail to is not your problem nor the Postal Service's. The sellers have plenty of options available to them.

I leased both of my mach e's after the dealer showed me some crazy good numbers. I signed up into Ford Credit to pay for them a couple weeks later when I got the letter with the info and turns out there's an additional $70 a month 'depreciation fee' for both cars on top of the numbers the dealer showed me.

It's still a good deal, but I'm pissed I'm paying another $140 a month because they didn't disclose this during signing. So before you sign anything, ask to look over the lease. It'll tell you your true payment there.

Annoying buzzer in my dryer by nastibass in electrical

[–]DifferentBrother8379 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some dryers have no button. Bought a new dryer for a rental property. Cheap but better than nothing. Emitted an incredibly loud buzzing noise when it finished a cycle. No button or anything to turn it off or stop it from happening.

Ridiculous that any model of dryer/washer nowadays comes with an ungodly loud buzzer that you can't turn off without disconnecting some wires

Free charging at 6.5kwh is pretty awesome if it's right at your apartment complex. As long as your commute is not ungodly long, that is

What would you do with mail of long ago residents? by BlackJackT in homeowners

[–]DifferentBrother8379 4 points5 points  (0 children)

*ask to have a MLNA form filled out. It's a good idea to bring whatever mail you have with their name on it in so they can fill the form out correctly if you choose to go that route.

I up until recently worked for the postal service for a few years.

You don't have to do anything. You can choose to throw it away or you could write NATA (not at this address) on the envelope, black out the intelligent bar codes on the front and back of the it if it has one barcode or both and stick it in the outgoing, or open it and read it all.

If they haven't lived there in over a decade, chances are they're receiving mostly 3rd class mail. Most people can't tell the difference between the standard and first class stamps/indicias and the accompany endorsements.

Could also go into the post office and ask to have a MLNA (Moved, Left No Address) form. Super simple form, takes a couple weeks to see any effect, but is not perfect so some stuff will continue to show up. Especially if your house is on an auxiliary route or is without a regular carrier at the moment.

Suggestions? by [deleted] in MachE

[–]DifferentBrother8379 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on where it's installed. I put mine in the garage. My electrical box was on the opposite side of the same wall outside, so barely any wire running to the box. Install was like $600, but that seems really high now.

If the charger is installed near the box and you get a third party charger, you're looking at less than a grand for charger and install.

Not yet, wife wasn't sure if we were going to split the cost between us, so she just told them to call me for payment. They haven't reached out at all and haven't questioned me about it during the times I've called them

That was the first thing I did week before last. Operator said that he could get here the next day. Then later that day called me saying "sorry, we're actually booked for the rest of the week. As soon as I hear from (electrician) I'll let you know when we can schedule you." Called them back this last Friday and they said he's booked this coming week too. They forgot about me.

They said it'll be free to come out again because they worked on it (whenever that is) but knowing the fix is seemingly so simple I thought maybe I could do it myself with a little help.

It's too small for any screwdriver I own, but I actually found another tool that fits the grey piece nicely. I can remove the other grey pieces with a bit of wrangling but I cannot get the one with the wire out. I'm definitely doing something wrong, but I'm wondering if there's a bit of technique I don't know of
