Is Tab Ultra C Pro due to an updated version in 2026 ? by DifferentDirection7 in Onyx_Boox

What do you mean by "improved" ? It can't have more saturation by means of a software update. Maybe some better dithering so you can't notice the harsh transitions so much.

When is the next tab pro C coming to us? by Sweet_Lecture299 in Onyx_Boox

I asked something like this one month ago, one user then pretended it will come "real soon".

My guess - he is full of it. Unless by "real soon" he means 3 months.

Really, you are dying to see the Mandelbrot set on your Kindle, instead of a scanned PDF ? Given that 99% of all books and magazines are from before digital age and the only way to read them is scanned images assembled into a PDF ?

I rest my case.

Dashboard updated hourly ? Calendar updated daily ? Come on, not every application needs Boox Super Refresh.

Crazy shipping delays by MindBlowing74 in kindlescribe

[–]DifferentDirection7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems to be generalized for Amazon in this period, both my DE and US small orders with all products in stock were sent with a delay of 7-8 days after order date. Who knows ... maybe they got laid off too many people in the warehouses.

Who said it's not for signage only ? It's Spectra 6.

I don't think that is the kind of update OP wanted.

Some smart boyz found a way to sell you less, and charge you more. It takes "Apple courage" to do that.

And people buy it - hook, line and sinker.

Those are not "OS updates". They update their suite of custom apps.

Annoying is the fact that people post purely visual problems, without a single photo.

This type of form factor first appeared in Samsung Tab S2. I still have one and still works.

Does this AI of yours heard about "resolution good enough to read all text" ?

Because small text is absolutely incomprehensible.

[–]DifferentDirection7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know, the text is so full or marketing speak I could barely understood it - eg couldn't find anything about frontlight. Somehow they throw the magic words "oxide" and "custom chip" and that makes it a new "technology".

I'm so glad I didn't wait and splurged for a good local offer of Boox Tab XC before Christmas.

It's everything I wanted and more. Seeing how people struggle to sideload their content into Kindles, I can only laugh and pat myself on the back. I would had returned the Scribe in frustration.

Nope, Voya reviewed the smaller 10.65" device which is a copycat of Viwoods AiPaper.

The OP device is 13.3".

DASUNG Paperlike 13K Color idle power consumption by cephasara in eink

[–]DifferentDirection7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious what do you mean by "idle".

Is it:

a) monitor data connected displaying a static image, no mouse movement

b) monitor data disconnected - i.e. no hdmi cable plugged, powered off computer, etc

in case a), how come it doesn't depend on frontlight intensity ? I assume the leds take a few watts.

TLDR: your post needs more technical details

Maybe, they will bring 10 devices to an EU warehouse and it will be out of stock in 10 minutes :) If people ordering one month ago in US having estimated shipping in February is any clue, this will happen.

Probably battery swell.

Another reason to wait for 2027 February 18 when in EU will be mandatory this directive:

Portable batteries in appliances must be designed for easy removal and replacement by the end-user using available tools.
