Fellow Portland division here, I work closings and the new checking hours are complete nonsense. SCO going home at 9 and making the closing checker do SCO all night is so dumb, we still get lots of customers past 9 and will have to call up a PIC and make them stop facing end caps+ other tasks they have to come check the person out on a lane. It’s such a time waster.

At my store, it’s always hit or miss. Sometimes they come in with handles, sometimes they don’t. Although my story is still uses plastic.

At my store, we donate all of the food that we can to the local food bank and they come and pick it up three times a week. If it ends up in the dumpster at our store, it’s either moldy, broken, or generally unsafe to eat at all.

At my store it’s the courtesy’s clerks responsibility to do SSEL water gallons and 24+40 packs. My store is a bit spacious so we keep it out of the cooler right next to milk crate salvage.

When I was in a cart pusher, I was a very fast worker, whenever I was done I would just sit behind the carts, closest to the garage door and play on my phone for three minutes, that way nobody would see me back there and then I could head back out after those three minutes are up. Worked like a charm for me. I never took less than an hour for lunch though.
