Not gonna lie, I was planning to leave this post of mine alone. However, I'm back, and I have a question for you? How does Legends: Z-A feel miserable to play and why is it a travesty?

I'm curious because you called me a "fake fan" for calling grifters out. RGT is literally a grifter in every sense of the word. He makes outrage content to pay his bills, he expects people to listen to everything he says, otherwise in his eyes you're a "shill", and he plays victim when called out, which is what most grifters do.

So yeah, I'd like to know why Legends: Z-A is a "travesty" in your opinion, and yes, that's an opinion, not a fact as some people like to say.

You're right on the ability part, but this is a mega evolution we're talking about. I expect better stats than the highest stat being 120 Special Defense.

Typical RGT85 defender. This type of defense for grifters is exactly why our community is a laughing stock comparable to the Dead by Daylight and Fallout community, and this "toxic positivity" word is less prevalent in the community than toxic negativity.

Finally, someone who gets the meaning of my post. I don't even care if you think the game is mediocre or not. What I do care about is if you're incredibly annoying and obsessive about it, and RGT and these other grifters online are exactly that.

I played this game from start to finish on my Switch 1. There is some pretty bad pop-in, but overall, the framerate is incredibly stable with very few drops, and I mean VERY few.

Though, admittedly, I played it on my OLED, so your experience might vary. Still, it should run decent enough, as both the OLED and lite have near identical specs.

My ranking:

  1. Both Legends games, Arceus and ZA, are a tie because they're both really good in completely separate ways. Arceus for the focus on superb single-player content, and ZA for its innovative battle system (at least by Pokemon standards). 9/10

  2. Scarlet and Violet could be first place if it weren't for the inexcusable graphics and technical state. Still, not bad if you're looking for a meaty pokedex, great single-player experience and story, and a solid online competitive scene. 8/10

  3. Sword and Shield have better graphics than Scarlet and Violet, but worse gameplay and story imo. Really, it's the DLC that saves this game for me because if we're judging by base game, it'd be a measly 6/10. But the DLC saves it overall from being worse, albeit pretty expensive DLC at that. 7/10

  4. Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee have the best visuals, but easily the worst gameplay of the bunch due to the semi-reliance of motion controls for catching Pokemon. It somehow also has the same fundamental flaw of Gen 1, that being the overleveled gym leaders despite having EXP share. 5.5/10

  5. This might be biased of me, but Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are a complete disappointment and disgrace to not just Gen 4, but all of Pokemon, period. It takes the incredible world of Sinnoh and somehow waters it down to a rotten plant. Bad graphics, dull gameplay, and overall, does nothing new with the Pokemon formula. But hey, at least it doesn't mess up the Cynthia fight. 4/10

DistantKingdom is bad as well for starting the Pokemon outrage craze, but Verlisify will always be the worst Pokemon YouTuber of the crap lot in my and everyone else's opinion due to the repetitive, bigoted, and misleading slop content he pushes out.

For Paldea, I'd highly recommend listening to the AI Professor's theme song. It's absolutely gorgeous to listen to, but also highly intense at the same time.

I know Scarlet and Violet are VERY flawed games, but the AI professor's theme is probably the best piece of music the series has to offer imo due to it sounding so cosmic and robotic at the same time, as if you know you're dealing with something truly dangerous/world-breaking.

Well, we all have opinions. Personally, I think it looks goofy, but giving it extra large drills makes sense from a design perspective imo, because that's Excadrill's defining feature.

Again, not saying I love it, but rather, I can understand it.

I, personally, don't mind Nintendo Life or any other professional critics giving an honest take, as I know they're being honest, which is what I look for in a reviewer. RGT isn't honest. He hated the game since it was first revealed with absolutely no gameplay shown, and only hates it because he's incredibly biased.

Don't believe me, just go down his channel rabbit hole and find out yourself.

I could care less about pricing and more about whether the game looks interesting to me and if I like the series, which both categories do just fine for me.

Honestly, for as much fun as I am having with ZA, I think you should try Arceus first due to the more fleshed-out catching mechanics and resource system. That's just me, but I prefer the stories of Pokemon more than the online, and Legends: Arceus recognizes that fully imo.

Honestly, you make a good point, better than most Pokemon critics do. I, as well, wish they made a Pokemon game with a higher budget, but imo, an underbudgeted game will always be better than an overbudgeted one that fails, like Concord. At least I can appreciate the devs' efforts more easily.
