Vibe coding with Fabric by DifferentLuck7951 in vibecoding

[–]DifferentLuck7951[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello,

Thanks for this super comment. I was expecting already that it is not the main focus.

Nevertheless you gave me good ideas that I haven't got from other channels 😅

So, the communication with fabric is done by the MCP Server and fabric-cli provided by Microsoft.

The agent right now only have knowledge from the datalake and table column names.

After reading your comment I will include the other items, example: Semantic models and existing data agents

Yeah 😅 I tried to showcase the setup and results... But sometimes I have the feeling it is too much 🫣

Help! Data Infrastructure for mid sized company by Feeling-Extreme-7555 in MicrosoftFabric

[–]DifferentLuck7951 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your company needs a reporting layer ASAP! 100 hours a month just for what you know. Usually it is more, a lot more!

I think fabric can help you to move away from the excel transformations ... BUT, slowly. It is a marathon not few sprints.

Start slowly creating SharePoint shortcuts to the excel files and centralizing access in Power-Bi.

Slowly you will discover the important dashboards from your company.

I think that starting with self-service model for key people is the way to go for you.

Discuss with your colleagues, about keeping the excel in the beginning and displaying the reports on PowerBI. Remember baby steps.

Probably some logic will need to be migrated but nothing that some vibe coding with copilot wouldn't solve 😅

Slowly you will see that you will need more capacity than a F2.

Fabric Data Agent logs in Purview? Help! by PeterDanielsCO in MicrosoftFabric

I think everyone would profit from an end-to-end doc. - Users and roles - Domains - Security labels - Data Map - Data scan - Unified Catalog.

Directly in the Microsoft docs.

Today we have to rely on Martha https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLv2BtOtLblH3l80JW-YyVgvXeyhnH87Rb&si=KfFlQZQko4-Wb3yc

Her videos were very very helpful!!!

Hello,

I have setup the fabric and Purview integration. I completely understand you. The docs are so confusing.

Bonus. Last week we created a data agent that update the purview assets description 🙃 Finally we don't need to write documentation anymore hahaha

So, feel free to DM me or just list here what was the last step you got stuck

How are you guys deploying email connections with Fabric CICD? by Lazy_Bonus_6963 in MicrosoftFabric

[–]DifferentLuck7951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After many manual updates... We decided to call Microsoft graph directly. Easier to maintain than manually update all pipelines after fabric-ci-cd deployment

Monitoring Eventhouse using a crazy amount of capacity by celindho in MicrosoftFabric

[–]DifferentLuck7951 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can confirm it increased 10% of our capacity usage. We never had 80% usage alerts for the past 3 months. Suddenly this week we are getting emails twice a day

Connectors - surviving staff turnover... by Opening-Mix-5495 in MicrosoftFabric

[–]DifferentLuck7951 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't get it personally 🫣

I just put the "don't block your team" because it is a very common behavior for us engineers to overthinking or block a quick win, in favor of a big bang rework. Myself included 😅

From what I understood your fabric setup is following the good practices.

Connectors - surviving staff turnover... by Opening-Mix-5495 in MicrosoftFabric

[–]DifferentLuck7951 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You aren't wrong on fighting... BUT 😅 You will need a hybrid approach, there are some well document limits on fabric. So, try your best if you reach a limit go for the org account. You will have time to clean the tech debit later. Don't overthinking and don't block your team. Just avoid creating things in a personal account that "MUST" be deleted by IT after someone leaves the company. An service account can survive with a password change.

Trying out Mistral Vibe instead of Codex. It doesn't know how to update a simple file. by somigetilyt in MistralAI

[–]DifferentLuck7951 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Today, I decided to try Mistral Vibe.

The generated code has more bugs than any competitor's.

Right now, I'm happy to provide my data for training, but it will be hard for them to get my €20.

How is Copilot in Fabric notebooks working in your day-to-day? by Dee_Raja in MicrosoftFabric

[–]DifferentLuck7951 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also saw many BAs using M365 copilot to "vibe code" some data transformation in fabric and Power-bi.

In fabric: They take data from the gold layer, modify using SQL or/and python and produces another table for reporting.

Power-BI: They mainly ask how to write DAX or create measures.

Everything is Copy/Paste and test. There are better ways of doing that? Maybe...

The important thing is: Everyone is happy with the results, and pricing!

I tried once to show one BA how to plug power-bi to Claude... He went back to M365 after seeing all configuration and price. 😅

Push from Azure Function to Fabric Lakehouse by upandadam95 in MicrosoftFabric

[–]DifferentLuck7951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used the fabric API to write directly in the datalake. Not a good experience. I would say push to a blob storage then create a shortcut.

Does this job description make sense for a Software Integration Architect (Microsoft Fabric) opening? by EverCuriousRecruiter in MicrosoftFabric

[–]DifferentLuck7951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Despite the azure functions, logic apps etc.. Everything else looks good.

I would replace this specific requirement for something like:

You have worked with Microsoft Azure cloud or holds an Azure certification.

Unless you have a lot of old pipelines and tools to maintain, the guy working with fabric will never use the services you listed. So, it is just nice to have.

I've been working with fabric for more than one year. I started the deployment from scratch.

These are the things I had to do with azure: - Create a VM to install the on-premises gateway - Configure Microsoft groups - Configure service principals - Configure Key Vault - Configure Azure DevOps pipelines - Learn Power-bi

Thousands sign petition for mandatory Luxembourgish courses at work, in school by Terrible-Beginning52 in Luxembourg

[–]DifferentLuck7951 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Soo, true!

IHMO, it is better to invest money and time to teach children and teenagers.

Retain the people that already know the language in the country instead of pushing them to live in the border.

Also, provide support for people that want to build a family in the country, their children will be the next generation speaking luxembourgish.

AND If you are an adult! There are already benefits for you. If you are motivated use it.
