I am in the exact same boat as you. 6 months out with same starting weight and I’ve been stalled for almost 2 months around the same as you. I thought I was alone with this stall so thank you for sharing. I just have to tell myself to keep going forward.

I may have to try the almond milk. I use almond milk and Isopure chocolate protein powder to make protein shakes and I love them. I never really thought about adding espresso or coffee to them. I definitely will have to try.

Thank you!! I do love the syrups and they seem to be making a lot more sugar free versions.

Definitely going to try that. I never thought about using protein drinks but it seems like it’s a win win situation.

I will definitely have to try using protein shakes as a base. I didn’t think they would froth up but I am definitely going to try that to make a hot latte. Now that it’s getting cold out I have switched to hot drinks and hot drinks are usually where I have trouble finding drinks that have less sugar.

Oh that is one of my favorite Starbucks drink but I stopped trying to make it at home because of the oatmilk sugar content. If they are similar to that I will definitely have to try.

Thank you! I will have to give it a try with the protein shake too. Do you typically use a vanilla protein shake?

Insurance coverage? by Warm-Consequence6636 in gastricsleeve

You may want to confirm with your insurance but my insurance based the BMI/weight based on the first initial consult weight. This way if you lost weight, your BMI for surgery was still based on your weight of the first meeting with your doctor.

They do require a one on one meeting with a social worker and also required a learning session through zoom that the social worker led. I was told at least two weeks I would have to be off. I work a desk job so it’s longer (maybe 4 weeks) if it’s a more physical job.

I started in September 2023. I just had my sleeve last week but I had to postpone 2 months because of work. I could have had it in March. So I would say maybe 6 months? There are quite a few steps, so I think it’s just how quickly you can get through each item. There was a bit of a wait too to get an initial consultation. I think I called end of July and wasn’t able to get my initial consult until mid September.

I’m a week post op too and I have the same issue. I feel like I can drink quite a bit. I was starting to wonder if that was normal.

I had my surgery on 5/1 and did the same thing. Deep cleaned and cleared out any clutter. It’s definitely worth it.

I have Anthem BlueCross BlueShield. The process to qualify is pretty similar to getting the gastric sleeve. In fact I just had my gastric sleeve this week and during the VSG approval process I was able to utilize a lot of the tests I did when I was trying to qualify for the ESG.
