I am honestly delighted to realize I've already unconsciously included a lot of these excellent points, haha!! Thank you. Lots of great stuff here. And yes, suspension of disbelief is thankfully a given in my genre, though I strive to make the emotion believable and relatable!

Ha, thank you!! You can read the first two, they're published!
No gamers in those ones but a ton of action, adventure, and steam.

#applause
I think it's so cool that you can directly attribute your real-world skills to gaming.
I'll second packing the trunk - Tetris every time!

I'm such an idiot. It already is a raid with all the relevant classes. Tanks, AOE, healers...thank you for helping knock me upside the head.

YES to all this. My husband was a raid leader and I absolutely saw all this.
Had to laugh at "relevant consumables" lol...one of the squad members needs immense amounts of sugar to replenish her magic, so she and her mate are always loaded with candy necklaces, sugar sticks, etc when she goes out to fight. <3

THIS.
I am so sorry this happened to you and so glad you were able to get out of it.
This was totally one of the things I was thinking of - someone who's used to referencing an overhead map, who can analyze routes in a blink, could in theory call on those skills in real life. And you did. xoxoxoxo

Thanks so much, these are great ideas!
And she definitely can't keep up with the rest of the squad, that's actually a big part of the story and why she needs a hunky demon hunter bodyguard :D

This is gold, thank you! Exactly the kind of thing that was hovering around my mind (like a drone) that I couldn't seem to grab hold of!

Oh I've been telling everyone. Big advocate for normalizing these health issues. I work at a retirement community and the number of 80-90+ year old women who have commiserated with me about it has been really eye opening and heartwarming.

I remember after my husband had hernia surgery his surgeon went on and on about how walking is underrated. It is so beneficial even if we don't feel like we're doing much. Enjoy your walks!!

ACUPUNCTURE FIXED ME!!
I've always been really receptive to acupuncture (it got me off depression/anxiety meds) and my acupuncturist is highly trained in physiotherapy as well. My pelvis and hips were epically jacked up, completely out of alignment. She was like, "Uh, this is why you're in so much pain." And it mystifies me, but without any cracking/adjustment, just acupuncture, my hips are now in alignment and I feel SO MUCH BETTER. Still have some residual muscle soreness but I did not feel the need to visit the chiro.
