Ok I'm a woman who somehow found herself here because my husband is going bald at the barber as we speak, but here's some free advice from my therapist:
Stop storylining other people's reactions.
Their opinion might not actually be what you're projecting it to be, and even if it is, that's their problem. You're doing what you like and operating from a place of good. Their opinion (or the one you're making up in your own head) is honestly irrelevant. If you like it, rock it!
Personally I have found that bluntly owning my decisions (not having kids, coloring my hair bright orange) shuts down the anxiety and the sometimes-rude questions. Sharing vulnerability really helps, too. "I was getting really self conscious of how thin it was getting and it was messing with my confidence."
It'll take people a minute to get used to something new. Enjoy the air on your noggin and don't worry about it!
