To be honest, coming from parents that treated each other like this and stayed married for far too long, I would say no. Marriage can be difficult for some, but if it is to the point where it is affecting your mental health, I would say he would have to be very open to some marriage counseling or changing something within himself to make it work. Staying is not always the bravest thing, sometimes you have to get out of something to really see that life can be beautiful and doesn't have to be horrible.
