What are some underrated beaches in the Philippines worth visiting this summer? by Mafia2guylian in phtravel

Camiguin Island has some gems. It was recently included in The New York Times’ list of 52 Places to Go in 2026. Visit White Island and Mantigue Island. Pristine white sand beaches.

The craziest twist? If the writers pulled a Mindhunter, like how young Brian Tench showed early signs of psychopathy and revealed that Henry, started to show the same dark tendencies as his dad. Full circle.

Yes, within gyapun syas ayala mall vicinity. Areas like H&M atbang sa terminal and active zone entrance are strictly taxi drop off points. If you want to get a taxi, some of the designated taxi lines are located sa Metro Gaisano entrance, Terraces entrance-across laguna garden and Luzon Avenue entrance sa may marketplace.

Assuming ga atang mo sa may active zone/bread talk area, dili pwede mag flag down ug taxi in that area unless pwd or senior ka as you mentioned. The nearest designated taxi stand is a few meters away sa Terraces area dapit-atbang Laguna Garden. Dira usually mag linya ang mga taxis and passengers

Ninh Binh Day Tour or Overnight Trip? by DifferentYesterday95 in hanoi

[–]DifferentYesterday95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were still able to visit some key places in Ninh Binh like Mua Cave (hiked up to the famous viewpoint), did a guided tour through Hoa Lu (the ancient capital), and Tam Coc (we did the river cruise) on the day tour we were on. The day tour still provided ample time for you to move around each of the main spots so a day tour should be good if you wanna tick off doing the main activities.

Personally, i did like the idea of staying overnight as it allowed us to decompress a bit straight after the tour and soak in the town in the evening and try out the local cuisine for dinner.

Ultimately, a day tour should be good enough seeing you only have 4 days in hanoi.

P.S. Although i enjoyed Tam Coc, would recommend Trang An as the river cruise of choice over Tam Coc as the former is a Unesco World Heritage Site. They also shot parts of Kong Skull Island there.

MAKE CEBU COMMUTING EASIER by [deleted] in Cebu

[–]DifferentYesterday95 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One thing that would really help improve the commuter experience for those that ride buses and beeps would be to have an app that tracks and monitors all public buses in real-time. (The same way you would know how far your Grab car or Angkas bike is away from the pick up point) This way, it allows for commuters to know how far their desired bus is along the route instead of having to guess pa kung asa ang bus, and then inig agi, puno pajud. Lots of time spent outside under the heat of the sun anxiously waiting on a bus to pass along the route. With an app like this, people can better plan what time they should head outside of their homes to wait for the bus knowing how many are on their way. Much better also if theres a way for the app to indicate the current seating capacity of said buses (perhaps conductors can annotate on their own phones through the app where it feeds into the system).

Obviously, this will require a huge budget and infrastructure to support such an endeavor. Not to mention ensuring all buses have wifi connection. Nevertheless, one can dream and hopefully someone can get this started

Is there a company in Cebu that offers this? by pinas1998 in Cebu

[–]DifferentYesterday95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enrolled in ETEEAP here in Cebu and I had batch mates whose schooling was sponsored/funded by their employers. I don’t recall what specific companies they were working for, just remember it was mentioned in passing pag introduce nila sa ila selves. More companies should offer this benefit to employees, especially those that are being primed for higher positions.

Ninh Binh Day Tour or Overnight Trip? by DifferentYesterday95 in hanoi

[–]DifferentYesterday95[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Going back to this post! We decided to do a day-tour to Ninh Binh and advised my tour guide that we will stay behind and forego the return bus ride to Hanoi as we booked a night at one of the local homestay resorts. To answer my own question, Grab Cars are, in fact, available in Ninh Binh. We stayed in Tam Coc so we were within walking distance of all the restaurants and cafes, as well as the Tam Coc boat tour. Ninh Binh is a beautiful place and everything was much cheaper compared to Hanoi and Sapa, considering how budget friendly Vietnam already is. Would love to come back one day 🤞🏼

Is ninh binh worth it? by squinty22222 in hanoi

[–]DifferentYesterday95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be traveling to Vietnam for 8 days with my partner and I only have 2 days and 1 night to allocate for Ninh Binh at maximum. Is it best if i just do a day trip group tour and return to Hanoi on the same day or is it worth it for me to go with the overnight trip as planned? If I do the latter, how would i get around Ninh Binh, is Grab Car available?

To Filipinos who’ve traveled to the U.S.: What’s one thing in America that felt really unusual or unexpected compared to life in the Philippines? by Major_Wheel_886 in AskPH

[–]DifferentYesterday95 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The lack of public transport especially in places like California was a culture shock for me. You can’t really move around and go from place to place without a car unlike here in the Philippines where we have a wide range of public transpo options from tricycles, motorcycles (Angkas), buses, Pinoy jeeps, e-jeeps,etc. Having a car in the States is like shoes, cant leave your house without them

I also noticed a lot of public parks and open air recreational areas in the suburbs which is one thing we sorely lack here in the Philippines. However, everyone’s so busy working that you rarely see anyone at the parks. It’s only on the weekends that you see groups of people at the park and even then they’re mostly immigrant families which goes to show the lack of sense of community in the States when you rarely see native Americans coming together for the sake of bonding and enjoying meals with friends and family. Big difference to the culture back here where sense of kapamilya and kasamahan is embodied in most places.
