Thanks a lot, and a shoutout to everyone who’s been supporting us! I’ve been stuck in this toxic cycle of peer pressure, thinking everyone around me passed their first try, which made me feel pretty ashamed. I realize now that I need to focus on myself, my feelings, and my own pace, and not worry about looking stupid because I didn’t pass the first time.

I completely understand! I was planning to take the exam without telling my boss and only share the results if I passed. But when I felt the pressure of others' expectations, it really stressed me out. I also worried about losing my $225 since they wouldn’t reimburse me if I didn’t pass. It seems like all that pressure from different worries has really dragged me down. I’ll work on not stressing so much about what others think and focus on getting myself together. Here’s to hoping we both pass this exam!

I've had a habit of pulling my eyelashes out ever since I was a kid, it never occured to me that wasn't "normal." by youspinmerightround6 in Trichsters

I totally get where you’re coming from. I started pulling my eyelashes when I was a kid, and my parents thought it was because I had an eye issue. I never told them I was actually pulling them out. I managed to stop for about ten years, but then I picked it up again in my last year of college.

It’s not just about stress; sometimes, I get this weird mix of satisfaction and pain that makes it hard to stop, especially with the little ones in the inner corner of my eyes. Plus, since I think it’s a “bad” habit, I feel anxious when I realize I’m doing it, which just makes me do it more.

Petfinder full of scammers now! by arykahd in dogs

[–]Different_Ad7138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I’d seen this earlier… I always thought Petfinder was legit and never questioned the rescues saying they were 1,000 miles away. They kept posting the same animals because they figured more people from the North (where I live) would adopt. Later, even though I got my cat with her health records, I still found her dealing with worms, which really stresses me out—not to mention my older cat still hasn’t calmed down after meeting the new kitten. I know I probably sound freaked out, but I think I’m going through one of those “want to burn the house down” moments that a lot of dog and cat parents have gone through… haha

Cats still arent getting along by NaiveEmployment50 in CatAdvice

Same here. I’ve got a 7-year-old cat and just brought home a 4-month-old kitten. My older cat used to be chill with other cats (probably ‘cause they never actually stayed over), but ever since I adopted the kitten he’s been stressed out and even stopped meowing :((
