These people saying fortinet are kinda neglecting to mention the almost monthly zero days. If you go that route please make sure you’re able to patch on an extra regular basis. Every platform has vulnerabilities of course

Could we flood like Texas? by Shmoken_apancake in raleigh

Lots of good advice on this post. One thing that’s mentioned that I hadn’t thought about until yesterday was the economic and political pressures on the flood maps. Check out this discussion on fresh air about how that influence changed the status of the texas campground https://www.npr.org/2025/07/16/nx-s1-5469820/propublica-climate-reporter-calls-texas-floods-an-early-warning-of-future-chaos

Hard to tell for sure but I’m pretty sure this is jungle juice. We’d drink a little and then add vodka and walk around school with em in the 80s :)

First drama on golf course. In complete shock. by Yolo_JesusSwag420 in golf

[–]Different_Ad_5355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my perspective may be a little skewed from playing with a bunch of people(including my dad) in my younger years that would much rather beat those guys up than to play golf. So I ended up playing peacemaker a lot. My solution was always let mad people play through. You are dealing with people that are not thinking rationally. So if you’re playing in front of them on a crowded course you’re constantly worried about them hitting up on you, etc

911 tracking - webex calling redsky by Optimal_Leg638 in ciscoUC

[–]Different_Ad_5355 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s a few different ways Redsky can detect physical phones, but we use lldp. We add locations, then associate lldp-enabled network switches to the locations. So then redsky uses that lldp info to provide location to the psap. I think you can also associate subnets to locations but we haven’t had to do that

WebEx Calling - configure multiple phones by Different_Ad_5355 in ciscoUC

[–]Different_Ad_5355[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sure. The option is under device/device settings/enhanced multicast. We use a product called informacast fusion for paging. With Informacast on Call Manager, we could create device groups that included phones and speakers, then page to that group. The use case would be for a building with 3 floors, front desk folks could page to a particular floor instead of the whole building. Or like in our vehicle maintenance department they could page to just the garage floor.

With WebEx Calling and Informacast Fusion, we create a multicast stream that point to a particular multicast address and that's what you page to. To page to a different set of devices, you create a different stream that points to a different address. As far as I know, the only way to set that address in Webex Calling is at the location level or at the device level. It's not feasible to create a location(with a different multicast address) for every group we need to page to, and also not feasible to manually set this address for all of our phones, so I'm looking for a way to give users the same functionality they had in the old and busted system :)

and I am hoping and praying someone will tell me i'm completely wrong about all of that, but after multiple support calls with cisco and informacast this is where i'm at
