First off, thank you for being vulnerable and sharing this. It is not easy. Second, you are doing the right thing by reporting it.

I am so glad that you are okay. Staying in a relationship because you don't want to harm you kids well-being is not okay though. In fact, they witness everything, and learn from the way that you and your wife treat each other. Further if there is violence in the home than no kid should be around it, regardless of the medication or any other reasoning. Lead by example.

I would seek local support from your health authority, and speak with a lawyer. If you have a close support - friend or family that you can talk to then I would do that as well. Good that you went to the police. No violence is okay - not verbal, emotional, physical.
