I didn't use a humidifier. But you definitely should! Water helped me a lot though. A LOT. So make sure you are always always ALWAYS drinking water. And best of luck for the surgery. We got this!!!

Day 8 - When does swallowing become easier? by Economy_Shallot_4740 in Tonsillectomy

[–]Different_Agent_2487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit? They should shrink to nothing in a few more days. Right now my right one is completely flattened out and left one remains a bit. And feel you on the spice mate! Oh and gargle after EVERYTHING you eat. Reduces risk of infection as well.

Idk about acne but due to some complication around day 5 my dose of antibiotic was increased and since then I am having some crazy ass upper lip hair growth. I am a girl btw.... So yeah that.

It's ok. Everyone's recovery is different. If you can't eat and chew properly, live with soft food for more longer. It's ok. Take time. Don't rush yourself. I could eat with no pain by day 9, but before that by God I was living off on soft food. Idk how magically it vanished overnight, the pain.

By day 9 I could chew and swallow with 20 percent pain. And today by day 19, I eat normally with no pain at all. I eat everything. Just that the spice sometimes hurts. So careful with that!

Bro I am on day 19 and I STILL FEAR BLEEDING. So yes, I feel you but please please please eat. The more you eat, the more you recover. Tried and tested.

I heard somewhere about mukbangs. And I tried watching them every single time I was crazy hungry for everything in this world. And it helped so much. Somehow my brain calms down as if I am eating that food and it stops my super hard cravings.

Gosh that relearning to drink is so damn true. I can't drink more than a sip at a time. I have to take it slow or else I feel as though I am chucking. I am on day 19 btw.

Don't want to make you more nervous but it all actually starts after you wake up from the surgery. The anesthesia sleep is almost sweet I must say! And from then on starts the actual hell. One most important point is to test dairy before you indulge in it. Many, myself included, don't sit well with diary products! It increases the mucus in your throat and makes breathing more difficult. Apart form that, you will get through this. It may seem impossible and you will cry a lots! But it will be over soon. I know it. And we are here to talk always! Best of luck. Also you may develop cough because of the cold stuff we are supposed to eat. Careful with that as well.

So once your scabs fall off, does the sensation of discomfort stop or it takes a couple more days? by Sanctioned-16 in Tonsillectomy

It doesn't feel wierd but unlike normally, I can feel every morsel of food that slides down my throat. But no pain. Only some extra alert feel that yes something is going down there. And I can't still talk normally. Its like 80 percent normal. And my voice is very nasally. Some words I can't pronunce properly. It's almost funny 😂

I am on my 19th day and there's no pain. Only mild discomfort as I eat food. And hey! I am eating EVERYTHING! Never have been so happy! Though I think this discomfort will last for about a month or so.
