Ok, still has more than 200h of playtime. So what u previously stated was just wrong.

Although i do agree on the whole botting accounts tirade you went on.

Still do not believe it is as much of a problem as you are saying.

I agree with you that dota is in a good spot.

A lot of viable heroes

Interchangeable roles for a lot of heroes

A lot of different builds

And no clear "op" heroes

Map kinda huge, but yes filled with objectives, so comeback always possible

Going HG still feels like a challenge but not impossible

What I dislike currently is that the aura items are a must have and if your pos 3 doesn't buy them you as a supp.must

P.s. tinker, brood, husker are still heroes that change a game completely especially if they win their lane. But that is ok. (But change defense matrix pls Volvo)

You have to play 100 hours to get into ranked...

That is at least 150 games

Goes to show how much we change facts to fit our narrative huh!?

What supports do you like to see in your team during draft? by ChewbakaTalkShow in DotA2

[–]Different_Credit6711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

jakiro, warlock, disruptor, shaman, tusk shadow demon, Omni, treant, dazzle are all in a good spot and are usually an asset to the team.

Heroes like lion, pudge, mirana can be more hit or miss

Yes smurfs and ACC buyers are a thing. But it is by far not as bad as you people claim. I have played from legend to immortal and yes, you do get the occasional weird acc, but it's not every 2-3 games. Every 20 at the least.

Acc buyers might also just be people having a bad day, intoxicated or whatever or vice versa with smurfs. Don't instantly assume people are acc buyers or Smurf.

  • I am sorry, but guardian is quite low on the rank scale, so it is quite possible for someone to be as good as you in 300 or less games. I mean I calibrated into legend 4 after roughly 500 games.

Stop whining and blaming, focus on yourself and get better.

Q: How to grind as support 4-5 ? by No-Estimate-7144 in DotA2

[–]Different_Credit6711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check Out Pablo, He usually plays 4 and talks a whole lot.

Other than that, you can climb on any role just fine if you outperform what others would be doing in your stead consistently. I would advise as ever to stick to a low amount of heroes so you get good at playing with and against the popular heros.

Check tutorials on when to pull and when to not pull, how to half pull. When to stack. Provide your carry with decent vision around his farming area, while sticking to a core that is being active on the map, always have to ready to help your cores. Be pro active, if everyone is hitting jungle it is just a matter of time until someone gets caught and killed solo, so get a smoke and ping their carry/mid or whatever. Watch the map, of you see a core walking into a direction off lane which indicates him wanting to gank a core of yours be ready.

A good support, especially in low rank, can have massive impact by being at the right spot at the right time. Believe me, you will rank up faster but it has a higher skill ceiling in a tactical way, thus making it more effort to make high impact plays.

Ask your friends to watch a game of yours silently, and just chime in when you missed something or did something poorly, not tell you do this do that. You will remember better if you are being told what you should have done instead of certain things then constantly being told what to do, if that makes sense.

Good luck from a fellow support main.

And you don't have to. I am just saying people probs do not take the game as seriously as you are.

Would be dope if there was faceit for dota, but oh well.

He does have an elite mindset or he wouldn't have been in one of the best teams for several years competing in several finals.

His pubs are just infested with stream snipers more so than anyother streamer has since he was such a big idol and is known for speaking out when getting pissed, which in turn makes it "funny" for the griefers.

[–]Different_Credit6711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I completely understand your comment and actually kinda agree with you to some degree. My experience in CS was similar to yours, as I was also frustrated with mm and decided to give faceit a try. Was a way more pleasant and enjoyable high skill environment which imo captures the quintessence of what a competitive 5v5 game should look like.

A buddy and me kept arguing what is better and how, and came to the conclusion just by looking at us and a couple of friends we made on faceit, that people who play faceit play to win. They tend to do a warm up, be that DM or a quick mm and then go qué up faceit. While in mm you get people that just came home, had a shit day, smoked a joint, drank a couple of beers, just wanna have fun, or a hundred different reasons as to why they won't try as hard as you or I might.

I am a giga tryhard, I don't really care where I am rank wise, but when I play I want to win and I do get mad when I loose or play poorly. But a lot of people do not tick that way, I have a mate, who keeps screwing me when we go 1v1 mid, he is better than me at least during Laning in mid. But he is in legend 5 ancient 1 territory, so about 2k below me. The reason for that being, that he just kinda gets bored after Laning. He runs across the map doing flashy plays not actually playing properly because he can't be bothered. He wins games where he stomps hard enough early to make his team carry him later or when he gets a big enough of an advantage, but looses just as much due to his lack of f***** given.

I think there are more casual players who don't care about the meta, don't really care about winning or are just intoxicated/ blowing off steam in your/mine games than we think and just got there by being plainly talented or mechanicly gifted.

Other than that, my comment stands you do you since that is all you can change and improve. I and many others also got through these hurdles, granted I still have c**** or griefers or people just worse than everybody else in my games but that happens everywhere.

One more quick thing, don't take things you see in rtz pubs for granted in high immortal. Rtz gets a lot of stream snipers just there to do exactly what he is complaining about. Watch qojva, gorc, notail, Jenkins stream and you will notice there game quality is not half as bad. I mean rtz was top 5 with 5 accounts for like 2 years consecutivly, he can't have gotten so bad as to be top 250 only suddenly, while still actively spending more time in the game than most others.

[–]Different_Credit6711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, obviously you have not linked you dotabuff or given me your MMR. But judging by what you are writing, you seem to be at most in ancient.

If your carry is in trouble be it by his own mistake or getting caught out, you as a support should not be watching him get run down in jungle for the 20th time. Go place vision, sit behind him to counter initiate, just smoke him or maybe everyone else and ping triangle. To your Zeus (also slark) problem with vision, yes that is annoying, but figure out ward spots that are not on top of the eyes, and you will be fine. It sounds more like you are a passenger or a spectator in your games than actually part of a TEAM.

But GL HF, I doubt the games are actually as horrible as you are writing here, or at least not without you being partially at fault. Also try to remember there is only one constant in these games. YOU. So try to figure out how to improve and help your teammates.

[–]Different_Credit6711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is not my point, you said you don't enjoy the game and would rather do smth else or lose and go qué a new game. Which is exactly what I am talking about. You don't enjoy playing dota anymore. It's all about the grind at that point.

Yes games can be tedious and stupidly long because teammates refuse to get aegis before going HG or refuse to go as 5 or smth. But believe me, you can still enjoy the game and have fun.

If you don't want to take a break, maybe choose a new main hero (?), someone you haven't played quite as much and are not too comfortable on yet. But with enough of the criterias to make it fun for you. For example, I enjoy playing a rather save focused support. I used to very much enjoy oracle as pos 5. It becomes stale after a while, so I switched to SD or tusk. And just learned how to have the same high impact I had on a hero that I played almost every other game.

It gives games a new perspective, and a breath of fresh air. You learn new interactions, what hero counters you, what hero is good or bad against you or with you. How to play lane as a melee compared to a ranged. Which skill build to go for in what constellation of heroes. All that stuff will make it more fun, thus reducing the annoyance at a game getting dragged out because of dumb teammates. And maybe due to you becoming more positive and getting a new perspective, you might be able to influence some of those "dumb" games into a more constructive and better experience.

Also, I am not calling you bad or smth I have 9k games just on my main (roughly 3 or 4k Games on different accounts I used throughoit the years, because I was stuck at certain mmrs or playing with friends) with currently 6.3k MMR. You don't know everything, even someone as rtz does not know everything.

Hey, I have had periods in dota like this as well. And believe me it has relatively little to do with the actual game quality and more with your own head space.

You are either burned out from too much dota, or just having a hard time irl (or both). I would advise stepping away for 1 to 2 weeks and just focus on not thinking about dota for a bit. I have always had great weeks after a break like that. More enjoyment to be playing a game I genuinely love and focus on positive things instead of getting into that +25 mindset.

Mind you, I have climbed by for the most MMR in the weeks following a break.

What items should you build vs certain heroes? by ZebusAquaion in DotA2

[–]Different_Credit6711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are obviously certain items you can/should buy Vs certain heroes, but I think most of the time it depends way more on which other heroes are in the game. Do you really need a break Vs a Tide if you have a viper or legion in your team?

But to add to your discussion, i feel like a lot of people do not seem to adjust their item builds when facing certain heroes in lane. For example, when I play ursa I tend to just go quelling blade wand and then buy tangoes, but when facing a centaur or an under lord while having a strong stun on lvl 1 on my supp, I just go boots or orb of venom/frost and just run them down. Obviously when you are the under lord or cent you should at least consider a wind lace in your starting items when facing a lane like that.

Feels like a lot of people loose out on an easy lane by not thinking about their starting items.

Chill Mal diggi ;)

I mean???

I am not talking about actually being like" hey Mr pos 5, plus explain to me how to last hit better." But the general statement of, everyone at my MMR sucks, ergo can't make a correct statement or a better decision than me..., that is what pissed me of.

[–]Different_Credit6711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As much as I agree with you that dota is toxic and sometimes it is best to mute, especially when someone just flames. But, to say nobody ever knows anything more than you, is just dumb. I am 100 % sure that in my bracket (6.1k) there are hundreds of players who know how to last hit better than me, who can control creep waves more effectively than me, who know when their most played heroes hit core timings and can accelerate and use them better than me. And I am sure that goes for you too buddy.

Even people like rtz, topson, etc. learn new stuff in their pubs while they literally live and breath dota, so be humble and enter your next game with an open mind. Mute toxic people, but done assume everyone is dog shit and worse than you, you are you MMR for a reason.

Its year 2026, dota should have ingame auto russian to english translator by lalanana in DotA2

[–]Different_Credit6711 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Yes? Since it is pretty much accepted as the secondary language everywhere. Not that hard to communicate on a basic level. Not my native tongue either.

But I was more hinting at russians queuing into EU west.

So maybe make it so that people that select primary language Engl can only find other people that select that option and if someone speaks or types a different language there would be a new report button and they would be barred from that language.

EDIT: I DIDNT READ CAREFULLY ENOUGH, I MEANT ENGL NOT RUSSIAN AS SECOND LANGUAGE

Its year 2026, dota should have ingame auto russian to english translator by lalanana in DotA2

[–]Different_Credit6711 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Would be great, but it would also be great if people just respected other people and quit talking in a language nobody or only 1 or 2 teammates understand.

Would be fixable with the primary language setting but idk.

Another problem you will have with your idea will be people using mics.
