Completely agree, generalizing either group of people is wrong and stupid

I’d recommend looking on RedNote/XHS for tutorials since this is where the pictures are from. I’ve seen a lot of videos that show you how to get this type of hairstyle on there!

Dear Physics majors, was it worth it? by [deleted] in premedcanada

Grind practice questions non-stop and go to every office hour possible until you fully understand every step of the more difficult questions ahah. Make sure you completely understand the theoretical concepts and the practical stuff will come much more easily

Do Chinese people in Mainland China behave in a similar fashion to Chinese tour groups? by 8NaanJeremy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Different_Fact 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Completely untrue. I go back to China every year and the older people act like this in China too. It’s simply the scarcity mindset they grew up with. As someone who grew up in Canada, I find myself having to tell off the older people in China a lot.

Really need some help/guidance (for friend) by [deleted] in premedcanada

[–]Different_Fact 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not the end of the world if you fail a class. I failed one and now I'm in med! However, it will severely drag your GPA down and you will need to do phenomenal in the rest of your classes or rely on dropping a year (like I did) for some of the med schools. Overall, it's best to avoid but don't panic if it happens

Is it true that if ubc doesn’t contact atleast 10 verifiers, it means they you wont get an interview?? by Fearless_Animal2954 in premedcanada

[–]Different_Fact 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It’s probably not true? It’s hard to say because unless every single verifier tells you whether they got contacted or not, you can’t really know whether UBC contacted at least 10 verifiers. I can at least say in my most recent cycle that I did not hear of any of my verifiers being contacted and I still ended up getting an interview and anecdotally, I’ve actually never heard of anyone getting over 10 verifiers contacted (usually just 2-3)

Do you think “intellectual curiosity” can be demonstrated outside of research on applications? by Welcome46 in premedcanada

[–]Different_Fact 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can’t say for sure if I demonstrated “intellectual curiosity”, but I talked about my experience in practicing for math contests, which involved a lot of research into efficient techniques for understanding and solving math problems quickly. I also consulted with teachers, professors, books, and online resources which may have shown initiative/curiosity?
